1954-1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing specifications

1954-1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing specifications Classic and Performance Car

The Mercedes Gullwing is one of the most iconic high performance cars of the last century.

Rarely seen but instantly recognised, this is not just a car but a true icon, generally known simply by the name Mercedes Gullwing. Behind the legend is a high quality sports coupé with a racing heritage, built over a spaceframe chassis, and with the world’s first production fuel-injected engine. The rest of the spec seems a little less impressive today: drum brakes, a four-speed gearbox, and swing-axle rear suspension. Most had steel bodies, but 29 were built in aluminium, for which you will have to quadruple the prices given.
