1959-1968 MERCEDES-BENZ 190-230 Fintail Saloon specifications Classic and Performance Car

Those tail fins that gave these cars their nickname were shamelessly tacked on to attract American buyers, and it worked: the Fintail Mercs sold extremely well, but without looking like some Pontiac pastiche. They proved handy for rallying too, with a 220SE winning the Monte Carlo rally. Low rent models have single round headlights, with the more desirable versions treated to stacked headlamps and double-decked bumpers. Four and six-cylinder versions are available, with diesel options for the former that sold well to taxi drivers.
