McLaren’s Special Operations division is currently offering the chance to buy a 2800-mile F1. Tempted?
Looking for the opportunity to buy a McLaren F1? These rare and legendary machines very rarely come up for sale, but now you have the chance of buying one directly from McLaren Special Operations.
This is a pretty special example too. Chassis #069 is a 1998-built example, making it one of the last, while the odometer shows a mere 2800 miles. Painted in Carbon Black, this stealthy looking F1 has a number of dark details and custom touches, like the dark centre-locking magnesium wheels. Inside, the car has a red and black leather central driver’s seat along with a pair of Alcantara-trimmed passenger seats.
It has been looked after by MSO from new, and it comes with fitted luggage, complete Facom titanium lightweight tool kit and Facom toolbox. All books and literature are present and correct, including the correct numbered LM Edition of the ’Driving Ambition’ McLaren F1 book and limited edition McLaren F1 owner’s watch.
While MSO is generally better known for its more recent work on offering custom parts and cars for customers who appreciate their supercars a little bit more exclusive, it’s the part of the business that also takes care of the special cars. Born out of the McLaren Customer Care programme, which was launched over 20 years ago, MSO today looks after the servicing, maintenance and occasional repair of the majority of McLaren F1s.
If you’re interested, you’ll need to get in contact with MSO directly. The company hasn’t revealed a price, but with F1s now regularly pushing close to £10m, this prime example certainly won’t be cheap!
