The M6 / M12 GT Coupe was a road going development of the McLaren M6 / M12 Can-Am car. In total, only 8 M6/M12 GTs coupes were built. McLaren Can Am Customer car number M12 #60-14 was built by the Lambretta-Trojan factory of Peter Agg, as were all customer McLarens, only the prototypes being built by the then very small McLaren factory in Colnbrook. The M12 was the 1969 customer version of the previous year's M6B, using the same chassis but with M8A type bodywork being fitted, which gave greater downforce than that in the M6B. Fourteen M12 spyders were built, and since chassis number 13 was not built, M12 60-14 was the last car produced. Numbers #10, #14 and #12 stayed at Shelby's shop for about a year before going to Holman and Moody's, where Vic Franzese bought #12 and #14 as rolling chassis (sold to Carrol Shelby in America 1969, without engine or gearbox). M12 #60-14 was sold on after a year, to Holman and Moody, the race preparation company, who in turn sold both M12 #60-12 and M12 #60-14 to Vic Franzese of Montour Falls, N.Y. The McLaren 650S is a supercar designed and manufactured by McLaren Automotive. It was announced in February 2014 as a new model, but based on the existing McLaren MP4-12C with 25% new parts, and was formally unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The 650S shares the MP4-12C's Carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer chassis, and is powered by the same McLaren M838T 3.8-litre V8, twin-turbo engine, but now developing 641 bhp and 500 lb·ft (680 N·m) of torque. Power is transmitted to the wheels through a seven-speed near instantaneous shift dual-clutch gearbox. The 650S has a claimed top speed of 207 mph, and can accelerate from 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 3 seconds and from 0–200 km/h (0–124 mph) in 8.4 seconds. The car has P1-type styling, a surprisingly modified chassis, carbon-ceramic brakes as standard, and carbon fibre doors. The amazingly supple ride of the 12C has been sacrificed slightly, as has the 12C’s subtle visual elegance, but these changes have created a more desirable harder feel and dramatic look.
