Best Classic Car Shows February 2018 – Events to visit this month Classic and Performance Car

Need a reason to get your classic out this weekend? Here are some of the best local and international classic car shows to visit in February 2018 and beyond

As car enthusiasts, we really are spoiled for choice with classic car shows these days. With so many high quality and accessible events available, both locally and further afield, there is a lot of fun to be had with our cars. Whether planning a trip to an old favourite such as the Goodwood Revival, or you're looking to try one of the many new events, you're never short of options.

While it's easy to get swept up in the the buzz surrounding the big events like the Silverstone Classic, some of the smaller events closer to home can also be incredibly satisfying – especially if it gives you an opportunity to take your own weekend car out for a blast. While we remain in the depths of Winter, there are still plenty of exciting things to do in January and February. Just be prepared to wrap up warm.

Here are some of the best events to look forward to this weekend, and the rest of the year:

Rétromobile

7-11 February | Paris, France

Rétromobile

The halls of the Paris Expo in Porte de Versailles are filled with some of the finest classic cars in the world, but there’s room for quirky fare, too – the Berliet Foundation is showing an example of its Centaure truck for example. The 2018 show will celebrate the 120th anniversary of Renault and, for the first time, an area will be given over to sellers of affordable classics.

London Classic Car Show and Historic Motorsport International

15-18 February | ExCeL London, UK

London Classic Car Show 2018

Plans for 2018 include a fun gathering of noted getaway cars, and specials will be in action on the Grand Avenue runway inside London’s ExCeL – including the Beast of Turin. Tickets cover entry to both the Classic Car Show and Historic Motorsport International.

Techno Classica Essen

21-25 March | Essen, Germany

Techno Classica Essen

‘Huge’ is the word most often used to describe the annual German show. It’s an accurate description, but Techno Classica has more going for it than sheer size, with carefully considered displays and the sort of support from clubs that makes it feel like a show for the people, by the people, in spite of the presence of many major manufacturers.

Retro Classics Stuttgart

22-25 March | Stuttgart, Germany

Retro Classics Stuttgart

Some 140,000m2 of space in south-west Germany is filled with classics of every era and type. No major event has more readily embraced the Youngtimer scene, and this year there will be a whole hall dedicated to cult cars of even more recent vintage, described by organisers as ‘Neo-classics’.
