1965-1974 MARCOS Mini-Marcos specifications

An cottage industry of specialists had emerged making the humble BMC Mini do things that its creator, Alec Issignonis, had never imagined for it. The Mini-Marcos was one such car, combining a lightweight low-drag fibreglass monocoque with the front-wheel-drive car’s drivetrain and suspension. It proved a successful combination, not only dynamically, but commercially, too – and when Marcos folded in 1971, the Mini-Marcos continued in various guises, and arguably inspired the Midas of the 1980s. The original has plenty of appeal, though – and good examples fetch strong money.
