1968-1972 MARCOS 3-litre specifications

Marcos finally abandoned its plywood underpinnings for the 3-litre and went for a square tube chassis that cost less to build, was easier to maintain, and ultimately made it easier to sell. The 3-litre was a clear indicator that Marcos was moving upmarket, and although the Ford V6-powered car looked near identical to its four-cylinder cousins, it offered much more performance – and therefore, sales appeal. However it wasn’t cheap, and in moving away from its competition roots, Marcos struggled to find new buyers – especially in the wake of the launch of the cheap and plentiful Ford Capri 3000.
