Vehicle Information LOTUS ELEVEN LE MANS (Series 2) - TOOL ROOM REPLICA 506 miles from build. Registered: 13/06/2003 Tax Class - Historic Vehicle HISTORY: This is a well known vehicle in the Historic Lotus community. Engineer built from scratch as a completely accurate copy of a Series 2 Lotus 11 by Ken Newson. Since childhood Ken's dream was to own a Lotus 11 and he used the project as therapy during his recovery from a stroke which proved successful and a massive turning point. Enormous help was freely given to Ken by Vic Thomas (HLR), Mike Brotherwood and Richard Coles (Holbay) Without their support and patience the project would not have been possible. The car has been seen at many events through the years including leading the 2005 Lotus Club Le Mans parade lap. Featured in the Autumn 2002 issue of Historic Lotus magazine etc CHASSIS: Built from scratch using original Lotus drawings the chassis differs only in the use of 2 swg thicker tube throughout. The wording - Tool Room Replica - is arguable however in this case as an overview, it illustrates the effort for total accuracy that existed when this car (over an 18 month period) was constructed.
