LCY 517P – 1976 Land Rover Series 3 88" Softop Galvanised Chassis TAX & MOT EXEMPT LCY has only had six owners since new of which a majority have owned the vehicle for long periods of time. Previous mot's show the vehicle has had very little use in recent years and has covered only 500 miles since 2013. However it has been maintained and kept on the road each year. The history file also shows invoices for various work and servicing over the years. First Registered 15th February 1976 this is now a tax and mot exempt vehicle with the benefit of the original chassis being galvanised therefore there is no need to worry about corrosion in the future. It is in one of the most classic colour combinations Bronze Green with the Limestone Wheels. To find an unmolested example has become very hard, but to find one that has had just six owners, retains all of its original panels, its original chassis, engine, gearbox is becoming very hard. The bodywork on LCY is very good and all the panels are straight with no dents or scraps. The interior still retains the original style Deluxe front seat backs and bases. It was also important to us that we kept as many original parts of the vehicle, as this wasn’t intended to be a fully restoration but a preservation. Door cards are fitted to the lower doors so that the door tops can easily be removed for use in the summer. The dash is unmarked with no damage. The rear load space is very clean and this has never been a working vehicle. All windows open, all the window channels are good and because the vehicle has been kept under cover not rusted away as so often is the case. LCY 517P has one of the best original engine bays we have seen on a diesel Series 3, extremely clean with original stickers still in place. The original 2.25 engine starts very well with a 12 volt glow plug system and runs very well and there is no smoke with plenty of power as you would expect. The block and head have been repainted in the correct colours. The factory fitted engine busts into life on the turn of the key. It is apparent that this is a vehicle that has been maintained and covered low mileage it runs as quiet and smooth as any Series Land Rover that we have ever had. A joy to drive and such fun, the vehicle will have a full 12-month MOT from the day of sale. Although it is exempt. Four wheel drive and low range engage, as they should. The gears change up and down as they should it has a very quiet gearbox which is a good sign of it's light use over the years. The vehicle will be supplied fully serviced including engine, filter, main gearbox, transfer box, diffs ad swivels. Almost all Series Land Rovers we have had drip a little oil, some quite a lot, LCY 517P is the exception though no drips of oil to speak of even after standing for days in the same place. The steering is as it should be and the vehicle doesn't wonder on the road like some series vehicles do. The tracking has recently been done. All the tyres are have been replaced recently and are all in good condition. SUMMARY LCY 517P is an unmolested and well-presented Series 3 Softtop in very good original condition and is ready to use and enjoy this summer where ever you maybe. All the numbers match - the chassis numbers on the plates are the same as on the log book registration document and that stamped on the chassis itself. The engine number also matches that recorded on the logbook. This Land Rover has obviously been cared for and cherished by its previous owners. It is very solid example that requires no work and is ready to use and enjoy. If you are an enthusiast then you will not be disappointed with this vehicle as it is perfect in almost ever detail and is exactly as it left the factory 42 years ago. This is a very honest 42-year-old Series Land Rover. You will have to go a long way to find a better vehicle. Anything on this Land Rover that required attention has been done it is now faultless. It has had a number of owners since new of which a majority have owned the vehicle for long periods of time. Old mot's warrant the mileage. First Registered 4th June 1973 this is an early Series with the deep dash, larger Series 2a rear lights. The vehicle has been subject to a sympathetic respray and all the galvanising has been re done. The vehicle benefits from being tax exempt and soon Mot exempt. It is in one of our favourite colour combinations Pastel Green with the Limestone Wheels. To find an unmolested example has become very hard, but to find one that is in such good condition with all retaining original panels, engine, gearbox and interior is becoming very hard. The vehicle has also benefited from a high quality galvanised chassis which will ensure the vehicle is around for another 30 plus years. The bodywork on PLN is excellent and all the panels are straight with no dents or scraps. The interior still retains the original style Deluxe front seat backs and bases. All windows open, all the window channels are good and because the vehicle has been kept under cover not rusted away as so often is the case. The load area is exceptionally clean and doesn't show any sights of heavy use and is presented with a rubber mat and the bench seats . PLN 635L has one of the best original engine bays we have seen on a Series 3, extremely clean with original stickers still in place. The block and head have retained their original paint. Factory fitted inner mud shields unusually still both in place and are intact. Four wheel drive and low range engage, as they should. Land Rover Series 3 88" Genuine County Station Wagon. A81 DPH - First registered 5th October 1983. The Land Rover comes complete with a very extensive service history there are lots of previous mots dating back to 1994 were the vehicle had only covered 48,000 miles. Previous invoices show that no expense has been spent over the years in maintaining the vehicle. To find an unmolested example has become very hard, but to find one that has only covered ninety-eight thousand miles, retains all of its original panels, its original chassis, engine, gearbox and interior. INTERIOR The original factory fitted cloth front seat backs are in good condition as are the bases except for a small tear on one of the bases, they have never been replaced and are the original and have become very hard to source. Therefore finding a vehicle which has a complete interior is very rare. The rear seats are in very good condition and are fitted with individual lap belts there are also three seat belts in the front. Door cards to the front doors are original factory items and are complete and are in great condition. Sun visors that are perfect. As is the headlining. An exmoor trim carpet set as been fitted to finish off the interior. The spare wheel is mounted in the back when the seats are not in use. The dash is unmarked with no cracks or sun damage. A Radio has never been fitted and so the dashboard has been left unmolested. All windows open, all the window channels are good and have been replaced. The original triplex glass is still present and is in good condition. UNDER THE BONNET One of the best original engine bays we have seen on a Series 3, extremely clean with original stickers still in place. The original 2.25 petrol engine runs very well. Original paint to engine block which has the later 5 bearing crank and so is a very smooth and powerful engine. ON THE ROAD The factory fitted engine busts into life on the turn of the key. It is apparent that this is a vehicle that has been maintained and covered low mileage it runs as quiet and smooth as any Series Land Rover that we have ever had. A joy to drive and such fun, the vehicle's mot expires in September 2017. Four wheel drive and low range engage, as they should. The gears change up and down as they should it has a very quiet gearbox which is a good sign of it's light use over the years. It will be supplied fully serviced including engine, oil filter, main gearbox, transfer box, overdrive, diffs and the swivels. SUMMARY This is an unmolested and original Series 3 County Station Wagon in very good condition. All the numbers match - the chassis numbers on the plates are the same as on the log book registration document and that stamped on the chassis itself. This is one of the best low mileage and original Series 3 we have seen. In a very rare colour combination not many vehicle were made like this. This Land Rover has obviously been cared for and cherished by its previous owners. What you see is what you get. Please do not expect absolutely pristine as the vehicle is 34 years old. However, you will have to go a long way to find a better vehicle. The original county stripes can be fitted to the vehicle, we have left this option open for the buyer as the stripes aren't to everybody's taste. VALUE Low mileage, history, condition, and originality will contribute greatly to the value of any classic. Anybody can restore a Land Rover to a certain standard however you can't make anymore-original low mileage vehicles and so for that reason these vehicles are becoming increasingly harder to find and so any opportunity to buy one shouldn't be missed. Opportunities to purchase a genuine county station wagon don't often come up so please don't miss this one. Land Rover Series 3 88" 1983 Hardtop with Side Windows Petrol 83,000 Miles DHP registration number first registered for Land Rover UK this vehicle would have probably been a press car or a demonstrator for the release of the Land Rover 110 as Series 3's were also used in the brochure. DHP 493Y – 1983 Land Rover Series 3 Hardtop with 83,000 miles from new. Complete with overdrive. DHP has only covered 83,000 miles from new. The vehicle has spent a majority of it's recent life in Devon. The vehicle comes complete with old mots and invoices for recent work done to the vehicle going back to 2013. It has had hundreds spent on it. It is in one of the most classic colour combinations Marine Blue with the Limestone Wheels and hardtop it looks fantastic. The side windows have been retrofitted and are not a genuine item but are beneficial as it provides more light and visibility when parking the vehicle. It also has a safari top roof and county cloth seats. To find an unmolested example has become very hard, but to find one that has such a good history file, only covered eighty-three thousand miles, retains all of its original panels, its original chassis, engine, gearbox is becoming very hard. The bodywork on DHP is very straight and honest but it has been repainted on the outside only prior to us purchasing the vehicle but we feel it wouldn't warrant a full respray at this stage. The interior has original factory black and white cloth seats as fitted to the county models this could have been used as a test model by land rover to try the new interior that went into the county and 110 and 90 defender after. The dash is unmarked with no cracks or sun damage. All windows open, all the window channels are good and because the vehicle has been kept under cover not rusted away as so often is the case. The door bottoms are also in good condition and are not rotten. The load area is exceptionally clean and doesn't show any sights of heavy use and is presented with a carpet. Matching cloth bench seats have been fitted to the rear with 4 lap belts, this vehicle can legally carry 7 people. The vehicle has also benefited from genuine original Land Rover mudflaps which are far better quality than modern replacements. The vehicle has recently been fitted with 5 brand new Lassa tyres and inner tubes and so is ready to go. DHP 493Y has one of the best original engine bays we have seen on a Series 3, extremely clean with original stickers still in place. The petrol engine fires up and drives very well there is no smoke, it idles sweetly and has plenty of power. The block still has it’s original paint as does the head. This is the later five bearing crank engine. The engine has been fully serviced by ourselves. This is the later 5 bearing crank engine which is far better than earlier Series 3's. Also the vehicle has 11 inch brakes on the front as it was towards the end of Series 3 production. The factory fitted engine busts into life on the turn of the key. It is apparent that this is a vehicle that has been maintained and covered low mileage it runs as quiet and smooth as any Series Land Rover that we have ever had. A joy to drive and such fun, the vehicle has an mot until 12th March 2018 and won't have a problem passing the next. This is a useable land rover that can be left outside and used properly and not parked in a garage and forgotten about. Four wheel drive and low range engage, as they should. The gears change up and down as they should it has a very quiet gearbox which is a good sign of it's light use over the years. It will be supplied fully serviced including engine, oil filter, main gearbox, transfer box, overdrive, diffs and the swivels. Almost all Series Land Rovers we have had drip a little oil, some quite a lot, DHP 493Y is the exception though no drips of oil to speak of even after standing for days in the same place. The steering is as it should be and the vehicle doesn't wonder on the road like some series vehicles do. This is a very honest 35-year-old Series Land Rover. You will have to go a long way to find a better vehicle. I have a good contact is anybody needs help with transport, all enquires please message me in the first instance. 078255 87155

Land Rover Series 3 88” County Station Wagon 1982 A Rare Opportunity to Acquire an Exceptionally Original, Unmolested & Very Desirable 1982 Series III Land Rover 88" Short Wheel Base Genuine County Station Wagon. Just 68,000 miles from new. First registered 18th November 1982. Unique in such original condition and we think this is one of the lowest mileage best original un-restored county station wagon examples available. Retaining all of its original panels and much of its original paint. To find an unmolested example has become very hard, but to find one that has only covered sixty-eight thousand miles, retains all of its original panels, its original chassis, engine, gearbox, interior and most of its original factory paint finish well that's unheard of.............. BODYWORK The body and paint finish is 100% original, and way above the average 36-year-old Series III Land Rover. However, this vehicle is not your average series III Land Rover, it is extraordinary. It has benefited from a light polish and wax on all panels. The wheels are finished in Limestone, which is factory correct for a 1982 Land Rover in Pastel Green. The bulkhead is exceptionally solid and original, in fact as good as we have ever seen. It retains its original rear cross member which has never been welded. The underside has not been covered in under seal but preserved in new clean oil, you can still see the factory overspray under the wings and rear body this is exactly how they left the factory. No welding is required anywhere on this vehicle and it is ready to go. The spare wheel is currently stored behind the seat bulkhead with the original bracket. A few marks have been touched in with a touch up brush over the years but nothing considerably noticeable that requires attention. The station wagon roof is in excellent condition and has no dents or scratches and is still in its original paint where you are able to see the original spot welds through the paint. The vehicle still retains all its original headlights, lenses for indicators, side lights and brake lights which is nice to see as these items are now obsolete. INTERIOR Exemplary - by far the best original Land Rover Series III it still has its original Land Rover fitted floor mats. The original factory fitted cloth front seat backs are in good condition as are the bases except for a small tear on the middle seat base, they have never been replaced and are the originals too the vehicle these are of much better quality than replacements that are now available. They are also noticeable more comfortable. Door cards to the front doors are original factory items and are complete, even the arm rests are in great condition. Sun visors that are perfect. It still retains all its original triplex glass in the windscreen, door tops and hardtop. Unique in such original condition and we think this is one of the lowest mileage best original un-restored 1982 examples available. Retaining all of its original panels and much of its original paint. A very rare find indeed and one unlikely ever to be repeated - truly remarkable! To find an unmolested example has become very hard, only covered sixty-eight thousand miles, retains all of its original panels, its original chassis, engine, gearbox, interior and even most of its original factory paint finish well that's unheard of.............. The dash is unmarked with no cracks or sun damage. A Radio has been fitted with speakers which have all been done in a period fashion and suit the vehicle well. The rest of the dashboard had been left unmolested. All windows open, all the window channels are good and because the vehicle has been kept under cover not rusted away as so often is the case. The load area is exceptionally clean and doesn't show any sights of heavy use, the rear bench seats are also original and in the matching grey cloth. UNDER THE BONNET One of the best original engine bays we have seen on a Series 3, extremely clean with original stickers still in place. Original paint to engine block which has the later 5 bearing crank and so is a very smooth and powerful engine. ON THE ROAD The factory fitted engine busts into life on the turn of the key. It is apparent that this is a vehicle that has been maintained and covered low mileage it runs as quiet and smooth as any Series Land Rover that we have ever had, and for a diesel is a remarkable good starter that doesn't smoke at all. A joy to drive and such fun, the vehicle will be supplied with a 12-month MOT with no advisories. Four-wheel drive and low range engage, as they should. The gears change up and down as they should it has a very quiet gearbox which is a good sign of its light use over the years. It is also complete with Fairey Free Wheeling Hubs and a Fairey overdrive which all function correctly and improves the fuel consumption and drivability. Almost all Series Land Rovers we have had drip a little oil, some quite a lot, the exception though no drips of oil to speak of even after standing for days in the same place. The steering is as it should be and the vehicle doesn't wonder on the road like some series vehicles do. All the tyres have good tread including the spare it is fitted with road tyres as this suits the county and gives an improved ride. SUMMARY This is an unmolested and original Series 3 County Station Wagon in immaculate original condition. All the numbers match - the chassis numbers on the plates are the same as on the log book registration document and that stamped on the chassis itself. The engine number also matches that recorded on the logbook. This is one of the best low mileage and original untouched Series 3 we have ever had the opportunity to own. In one of the most fantastic colour combinations of pastel green with limestone wheels and roof. This Land Rover has obviously been cared for and cherished by its previous owners. There are mots dating back to 1992 when the vehicle had only covered 32,422 miles right the way through to last year’s mot. There are also lots of invoices present for parts and maintenance work that has been carried out on the vehicle over the years. It is very solid example that requires no work and is ready to use and enjoy. It retains its original chassis, still displays the V.I.N clearly stamped on it by the factory. If you are an investor you will already know the growing importance of original un-messed with condition for classic cars. You will also know that Land Rover never used galvanised chassis for production of Series vehicles - so one that's been fitted with one cannot by any stretch claim to be original and un-messed with. If you are an enthusiast, then you will not be disappointed with this vehicle as it is perfect in almost every detail and is exactly as it left the factory 36 years ago. This is a very honest 36-year-old Series Land Rover. What you see is what you get. Please do not expect absolutely pristine as the vehicle is 36 years old. However, you will have to go a long way to find a better vehicle. If you have been looking for the very best of the best when it comes to original condition un-restored Land Rover Series 3's then this is the right vehicle for you as it's the more desirable short wheel base meld which is a lot more practical easier to park, store, drive etc. We sold this vehicle over 18 months ago to a lady from Oxfordshire and due to unforeseen circumstances she has had to reluctantly part with the vehicle. We were delighted with the opportunity to sell ROL again knowing how good the vehicle is.
