Land Rover Series 3 88" 1983 Hardtop with Side Windows Petrol 83,000 Miles DHP registration number first registered for Land Rover UK this vehicle would have probably been a press car or a demonstrator for the release of the Land Rover 110 as Series 3's were also used in the brochure. DHP 493Y – 1983 Land Rover Series 3 Hardtop with 83,000 miles from new. Complete with overdrive. DHP has only covered 83,000 miles from new. The vehicle has spent a majority of it's recent life in Devon. The vehicle comes complete with old mots and invoices for recent work done to the vehicle going back to 2013. It has had hundreds spent on it. It is in one of there most classic colour combinations Marine Blue with the Limestone Wheels and hardtop it looks fantastic. The side windows have been retrofitted and are not a genuine item but are beneficial as it provides more light and visibility when parking the vehicle. It also has a safari top roof. To find an unmolested example has become very hard, but to find one that has such a good history file, only covered eighty-three thousand miles, retains all of its original panels, its original chassis, engine, gearbox is becoming very hard. The bodywork on DHP is very straight and honest but it has been repainted on the outside only prior to us purchasing the vehicle but we feel it wouldn't warrant a full respray at this stage. The interior has original factory black and white cloth seats as fitted to the county models this could have been used as a test model by land rover to try the new interior that went into the county and 110 and 90 defender after. The dash is unmarked with no cracks or sun damage. All windows open, all the window channels are good and because the vehicle has been kept under cover not rusted away as so often is the case. The load area is exceptionally clean and doesn't show any sights of heavy use and is presented with a carpet. Bench seats can be fitted should the buyer wish at an additional cost. DHP 493Y has one of the best original engine bays we have seen on a Series 3, extremely clean with original stickers still in place. The petrol engine fires up and drives very well there is no smoke, it idles sweetly and has plenty of power. The block still has it’s original paint as does the head. This is the later five bearing crank engine. The engine has been fully serviced by ourselves. The factory fitted engine busts into life on the turn of the key. It is apparent that this is a vehicle that has been maintained and covered low mileage it runs as quiet and smooth as any Series Land Rover that we have ever had. A joy to drive and such fun, the vehicle will have a full 12-month MOT from the day of sale. This is a useable land rover that can be left outside and used properly and not parked in a garage and forgotten about. Four wheel drive and low range engage, as they should. The gears change up and down as they should it has a very quiet gearbox which is a good sign of it's light use over the years. It will be supplied fully serviced including engine, oil filter, main gearbox, transfer box, overdrive, diffs and the swivels. Almost all Series Land Rovers we have had drip a little oil, some quite a lot, DHP 493Y is the exception though no drips of oil to speak of even after standing for days in the same place. The steering is as it should be and the vehicle doesn't wonder on the road like some series vehicles do. It is sitting on the larger 7.50 x 16 road tyres. This is a very honest 33-year-old Series Land Rover. You will have to go a long way to find a better vehicle. Anything on this Land Rover that required attention has been done it is now faultless. If anybody has any further interest in a *HP ***Y Land Rover then we have others that will also be listed soon. Including a trident green pre production EHP 110 County Station wagon which is Y reg and so is very early. Also a X reg Series 3 County Station Wagon 88" in Masai Red which again is a factory registration number. *DU ***X Try our new free valuations service http://www.williamsclassics.co.uk/valuations/ http://www.williamsclassics.co.uk Any trail or inspection welcome, Credit and debit cards accepted, Delivery can also be arranged, P/X welcome, Any enquires please call 078255 87155.

The dash is unmarked with no cracks or sun damage. Just look at the footwells they still have the original pressed footwells, this is not to be confused with a land rover that has been cosmetically done. A Rare Opportunity to Acquire an Exceptionally Original, Unmolested & Very Desirable Series III Land Rover 88" Station Wagon. This vehicle is a early Series 3 and has many features that were carried over from the late Series 2a production. Such as Series 2a rear lights, gearstick, number plate on the right hand side and some other small features. Just 72,000 miles from new. First registered 11th April 1973. It has had five previous owners of which a majority have owned the vehicle for long periods of time. The vehicle has been mainly in the Coventry area, the last keeper had the vehicle since 1998 so a total of 18 years. Unique in such good original condition and we think this is one of the lowest mileage best original station wagon examples available. To find an unmolested example has become very hard, but to find one that has only covered seventy-two thousand miles, retains all of its original panels, its original chassis, engine, gearbox and interior it becoming very hard. BODYWORK The body work is very straight and is way above the average 44-year-old Series III Land Rover. It has benefited from a cosmetic respray and detailing through out. The wheels are finished in Limestone, which is factory correct for a 1972 Station Wagon. Also the side panels are correct, finished in Marine Blue and not Limestone as the later Series 3 were. No welding is required anywhere on this vehicle and it is ready to go. INTERIOR Exemplary - by far the best original Land Rover Series III it still has its original headlining and rear individual drop down seats. This vehicle can legally carry 7 people. There is a matching set of new front deluxe seats fitted and station wagon door cards to both the front and rear doors. The dash is the early type with different style top vents compared to the later series 3 models. The rest of the dashboard had been left unmolested. All windows open, all the window channels are good and because the vehicle has been kept under cover not rusted away as so often is the case. The load area is exceptionally clean and doesn't show any sights of heavy use and is presented with a rubber mat and the individual drop down seats. UNDER THE BONNET One of the best original engine bays we have seen on a Series 3, extremely clean with original stickers still in place. The original 2.25 petrol engine runs very well and has plenty of power and starts straight up even on the coldest of mornings. Original paint to engine block which is the correct early 3 bearing crank engine which was carried over from Series 2a production. ON THE ROAD The factory fitted engine busts into life on the turn of the key. It is apparent that this is a vehicle that has been maintained and covered low mileage it runs as quiet and smooth as any Series Land Rover that we have ever had. A joy to drive and such fun, the vehicle will be supplied with a 12-month MOT with no advisories. Four-wheel drive and low range engage, as they should. The gears change up and down as they should and the gearbox has been subject to a full rebuild and a new clutch fitted. It is also complete with Free Wheeling Hubs which function correctly and improves the fuel consumption and drivability. SUMMARY This is an unmolested and original Series 3 Station Wagon in immaculate original condition. All the numbers match - the chassis numbers on the plates are the same as on the log book registration document and that stamped on the chassis itself. This is one of the best low mileage and original Series 3 Station Wagons we have seen. In a great colour combination not many Suffix A Station Wagons survive today in such good condition. This Land Rover has obviously been cared for and cherished by its previous owners. What you see is what you get. Please do not expect absolutely pristine as the vehicle is 44 years old. However, you will have to go a long way to find a better vehicle. VALUE Low mileage, history, condition, and originality will contribute greatly to the value of any classic. Anybody can restore a Land Rover to a certain standard however you can't make anymore-original low mileage vehicles and so for that reason these vehicles are becoming increasingly harder to find and so any opportunity to buy one shouldn't be missed. Anything on this Land Rover that required attention has been done it is now faultless. It has also been fully serviced, new tyres and inner tubes all round, new brakes, clutch the list is too long to mention everything. Please call so we can confirm everything that has been done to the vehicle. A Rare Opportunity to Acquire an Exceptionally Original, Unmolested & Very Desirable Series III Land Rover 88" Genuine County Station Wagon. This vehicle featured in Classic Land Rover Magazine earlier this year and is on the front cover!! Just 69,472 miles from new. First registered 8th October 1982. Unique in such good original condition and we think this is one of the lowest mileage best original county station wagon examples available. To find an unmolested example has become very hard, but to find one that has only covered sixty-nine thousand miles, retains all of its original panels, its original chassis, engine, gearbox and interior. BODYWORK The body work is very straight and is way above the average 34-year-old Series III Land Rover. It has benefited from a light polish and wax on all panels. The wheels are finished in Limestone, which is factory correct for a 1982 County Station Wagon. The underside has not been covered in underseal but preserved in new clean oil, you can still see the factory overspray under the wings and rear body this is exactly how they left the factory. No welding is required anywhere on this vehicle and it is ready to go. A few marks have been touched in with a touch up brush over the years but nothing considerably noticeable that requires any attention in the near future. INTERIOR Exemplary - by far the best original Land Rover Series III it still has its original Land Rover fitted floor mats. Which really helps keep the road noise down in the cab. The original factory fitted cloth front seat backs are in good condition as are the bases except for a small tear on one of the rear seat bases, they have never been replaced and are the original and have become very hard to source. Therefore finding a vehicle which has all it's interior complete is rare. Door cards to the front doors are original factory items and are complete and are in great condition. Sun visors that are perfect. As is the headlining. The dash is unmarked with no cracks or sun damage. A Radio has been fitted with speakers which have all been done in a period fashion and suit the vehicle well. The rest of the dashboard had been left unmolested. All windows open, all the window channels are good and because the vehicle has been kept under cover not rusted away as so often is the case. UNDER THE BONNET One of the best original engine bays we have seen on a Series 3, extremely clean with original stickers still in place. The original 2.2.5 petrol engine runs very well and with the overdrive engaged 70mph is easily achievable. Original paint to engine block which has the later 5 bearing crank and so is a very smooth and powerful engine. The gears change up and down as they should which is a good sign of its light use over the years. It is also complete with Fairey Free Wheeling Hubs and a Fairey overdrive which all function correctly and improves the fuel consumption and drivability. SUMMARY This is an unmolested and original Series 3 County Station Wagon in immaculate original condition.
