A Rare Opportunity to Acquire an Exceptionally Original, Unmolested & Very Desirable Series III Land Rover 88" Genuine County Station Wagon. This vehicle featured in Classic Land Rover Magazine earlier this year and is on the front cover!! Just 69,472 miles from new. First registered 8th October 1982. Unique in such good original condition and we think this is one of the lowest mileage best original county station wagon examples available. To find an unmolested example has become very hard, but to find one that has only covered sixty-nine thousand miles, retains all of its original panels, its original chassis, engine, gearbox and interior. BODYWORK The body work is very straight and is way above the average 34-year-old Series III Land Rover. It has benefited from a light polish and wax on all panels. The wheels are finished in Limestone, which is factory correct for a 1982 County Station Wagon. The underside has not been covered in underseal but preserved in new clean oil, you can still see the factory overspray under the wings and rear body this is exactly how they left the factory. No welding is required anywhere on this vehicle and it is ready to go. A few marks have been touched in with a touch up brush over the years but nothing considerably noticeable that requires any attention in the near future. INTERIOR Exemplary - by far the best original Land Rover Series III it still has its original Land Rover fitted floor mats. Which really helps keep the road noise down in the cab. The original factory fitted cloth front seat backs are in good condition as are the bases except for a small tear on one of the rear seat bases, they have never been replaced and are the original and have become very hard to source. Therefore finding a vehicle which has all it's interior complete is rare. Door cards to the front doors are original factory items and are complete and are in great condition. Sun visors that are perfect. As is the headlining. The dash is unmarked with no cracks or sun damage. A Radio has been fitted with speakers which have all been done in a period fashion and suit the vehicle well. The rest of the dashboard had been left unmolested. All windows open, all the window channels are good and because the vehicle has been kept under cover not rusted away as so often is the case. UNDER THE BONNET One of the best original engine bays we have seen on a Series 3, extremely clean with original stickers still in place. The original 2.2.5 petrol engine runs very well and with the overdrive engaged 70mph is easily achievable. Original paint to engine block which has the later 5 bearing crank and so is a very smooth and powerful engine. ON THE ROAD The factory fitted engine busts into life on the turn of the key. It is apparent that this is a vehicle that has been maintained and covered low mileage it runs as quiet and smooth as any Series Land Rover that we have ever had. A joy to drive and such fun, the vehicle will be supplied with a 12-month MOT with no advisories. Four-wheel drive and low range engage, as they should. The gears change up and down as they should which is a good sign of its light use over the years. It is also complete with Fairey Free Wheeling Hubs and a Fairey overdrive which all function correctly and improves the fuel consumption and drivability. SUMMARY This is an unmolested and original Series 3 County Station Wagon in immaculate original condition. All the numbers match - the chassis numbers on the plates are the same as on the log book registration document and that stamped on the chassis itself. This is one of the best low mileage and original Series 3 we have seen. In a very rare colour combination not many vehicle were made like this. The vehicle is complete with old mots, bills for work and servicing, original county advertisement and the April 2016 issue of Classic Land Rover Magazine where the vehicle features on the front page. This Land Rover has obviously been cared for and cherished by its previous owners. What you see is what you get. Please do not expect absolutely pristine as the vehicle is 34 years old. However, you will have to go a long way to find a better vehicle. VALUE Low mileage, history, condition, and originality will contribute greatly to the value of any classic. Anybody can restore a Land Rover to a certain standard however you can't make anymore-original low mileage vehicles and so for that reason these vehicles are becoming increasingly harder to find and so any opportunity to buy one shouldn't be missed. Opportunities to purchase a genuine county station wagon don't often come up so please don't miss this one. http://www.williamsclassics.co.uk Any trail or inspection welcome, Credit and debit cards accepted, Delivery can also be arranged, P/X welcome, Any enquires please call 078255 87155.

Land Rover Series 3 88" 1983 Hardtop with Side windows Diesel 65,000 Miles SNY 150Y – 1983 Land Rover Series 3 Hardtop with 65,000 miles from new. SNY has only covered 65,000 miles from new. It has had four previous owners of which a majority have owned the vehicle for long periods of time. The vehicle has been in South Wales area for the last 30 years. The vehicle comes complete with it's original owners manual and supplement for 1982 models. Also the original Leyland service book is with the vehicle something we never see. Showing all the services from 1,000 miles in 1983 right the way through to 48,000 miles in 1991 when the book ends due to no more pages. This proves the genuine mileage of the vehicle along with the mot history. It is in one of favourite colour combinations Light Grey with the Limestone Wheels and hardtop it looks fantastic. To find an unmolested example has become very hard, but to find one that has had just five owners, only covered sixty-five thousand miles, retains all of its original panels, its original chassis, engine, gearbox is becoming very hard. The bodywork on SNY is immaculate and all the panels are straight with no dents or scraps. The interior has benefited from new front seats and matching rear bench seats. It was also important to us that we kept as many original parts of the vehicle as we could as this wasn’t intended to be a fully restoration but a preservation the vehicle is remarkably original. It still retains all it's original triplex glass which is all marked with the vehicle's registration number. The dash is unmarked with no cracks or sun damage. All windows open, all the window channels are good and because the vehicle has been kept under cover not rusted away as so often is the case. The load area is exceptionally clean and doesn't show any sights of heavy use and is presented with a rubber mat and a pair of rear bench seats. SNY 180Y has one of the best original engine bays we have seen on a Series 3, extremely clean with original stickers still in place. The diesel engine fires up and drives very well there is no smoke once the engine is warm, as so often is the case with other diesel Series 3's. The block still has it’s original paint as does the head. This is the later five bearing crank engine. The factory fitted engine busts into life on the turn of the key. It is apparent that this is a vehicle that has been maintained and covered low mileage it runs as quiet and smooth as any Series Land Rover that we have ever had. A joy to drive and such fun, the vehicle will have a full 12-month MOT from the day of sale. The current mot expires at the end of the month. Four wheel drive and low range engage, as they should. The gears change up and down as they should it has a very quiet gearbox which is a good sign of it's light use over the years. It will be supplied fully serviced including engine, filter, main gearbox, transfer box, overdrive, diffs ad swivels. Almost all Series Land Rovers we have had drip a little oil, some quite a lot, SNY 150Y is the exception though no drips of oil to speak of even after standing for days in the same place. The steering is as it should be and the vehicle doesn't wonder on the road like some series vehicles do. All the tyres are have been replaced and are brand new Lassa Tyres including the spare. This is a very honest 33-year-old Series Land Rover. You will have to go a long way to find a better vehicle. Anything on this Land Rover that required attention has been done it is now faultless.
