1953-1959 LANCIA Appia Saloon specifications

1953-1959 LANCIA Appia Saloon specifications Classic and Performance Car

Designed as an entry-level model, the Appia was unashamedly stylish and advanced. Not only was it aerodynamic but it was light, too, featuring aluminium body panels – and that made the 43bhp 1.1-litre car move along at a fair old pace. The Appia was developed constantly throughout its life, mutating into the Series 2. The styling may have been rejigged to provide a bigger boot, but it still looked good, and was light years ahead of the opposition. These cars are almost impossible to find in the UK, especially the coachbuilt models from Vignale, Farina and Zagato.
