A one-off Gallardo Concept S is expected to fetch up to $3,000,000 when it goes under the hammer this November.
A unique Lamborghini Gallardo Concept S is set to be the highlight of this year's RM Sotheby’s Art Automobile auction.
The Gallardo S prototype will headline a 30-plus consignment of cars at this November’s second running of the Art Automobile auction in New York, with an estimated sale price of between $2,400,000 - $3,000,000.
The Gallardo is the only one of its kind ever built, with Lamborghini producing the prototype thanks to its rapturous reception at the Geneva Motor Show launch in 2005. The Italian marque followed up the concept with this fully functioning V10 prototype.
The obscure styling comes courtesy of Lamborghini’s then head of design, Luc Donckerwolke, and features a split interior, a ‘saute-vent’ instead of a windscreen, and a retractable rear windscreen.
Since chassis 001 was delivered to its sole owner following the 2006 Concorso Italiano, it has covered just 180 kilometres.
The Art Automobiles’ sale in Manhattan will take place on 18 November 2015.
