The Lamborghini model built to celebrate Ferruccio’s 100th birthday, called Centenario, will be making its first UK appearance at Salon Prive
Of all the ways to honour a birthday, manufacturing a Lamborghini coupé in one’s honour has to be in the top ten. Or even, perhaps the top five. But then again, this is no ordinary birthday.
It is, after all, 100 years since Lamborghini founder Ferruccio Lamborghini was born. While the coupé marks this centenary birthday, the company wasn’t established until 1963. It was then that Lamborghini – a manufacturing magnate – established the luxury car brand, partly to compete with other prestigious marques such as Ferrari.
But this model is about the man behind the supercar brand. And to honour Ferruccio’s birthday, Lamborghini will produce just 20 of the Centenario coupés with 20 further roadster versions. All of which are sold.
The Lamborghini Centenario coupé has yet to be seen on UK soil, but will be on display during Salon Prive, a spectacular three-day event at the renowned World Heritage site of Blenheim Palace.

The machine combines a lightweight carbon fibre tub and the most powerful V12 engine in the company’s history with 759bhp, giving it a 0-62 time of just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 217mph.
Describing the Lamborghini Centenario, event co-founder David Bagley said: ‘It perfectly reflects Ferruccio Lamborghini’s passion for high performance without compromise, and it combines a purity of design with engineering excellence. We’re immensely proud to premiere such an important car at Salon Privé this year.’
Blenheim Palace makes a stunning setting for a launch, along with a host of other automobile events such as an Art and Memorabilia fair, a Supercar Show and a Boodles Ladies Day.
