To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Miura, Lamborghini has launched the special edition Aventador ‘Miura Homage’
Lamborghini has not been shy about celebrating the 50th birthday of one of its defining models – the Miura. As part of its celebrations this year, it has just announced a special edition ‘Miura Homage’ Aventador at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Take one look at the show car, and the Miura link is starts with the exterior colour scheme. Put together by Lamborghini’s Ad Personam studio, the Aventador replicates six of the Miura’s most popular colour schemes, which includes Rosso Arancio Miura, Verde Scandal and Blu Tahiti. The bottom of the car is of course painted in a contrasting silver or gold trim.
The specification continues with the 20 and 21-inch Dione rims, which are painted in either matt silver or gold. The special model also gets a Miura 50th badge on the rear of the sill, as well as a black Lamborghini badge on the rear of the car.
Inside, customers have a choice of full Nero Ade or a lighter Terra Emilia leather, complete with tone-on-tone stitching and the optional carbon fiber package as standard. Just to finish it off, there’s a Miura 50th logo stitched into the upper part of the seat.
Under the skin the standard specification remains unchanged. That means the Miura 50 features a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, pushing out 691bhp at 8250rpm. Performance, again, is exactly the same, with 0-62mph dispatched in 2.9secs – heading onto a top speed of 217mph.
The company has confirmed that production of the Miura Homage will be limited to just 50 units worldwide, and it says that most have already been sold.
