740bhp drop-top Lamborghini Aventador SV breaks cover for the first time
Lamborghini has released the first images and spec details of the Aventador SV Roadster.
A vision of drama, the new Aventador looks to be vintage Lamborghini, with the lack of roof only adding to the insane styling quirks of its coupe brother.
Power will again be provided by the same 6498cc V12 as that of the hardtop. Maximum power of 740bhp is developed at 8400rpm, while there’s a healthy 509lb ft of torque on offer from 5500rpm
Despite its roof-job, the Roadster weighs only an extra 50kg compared to the coupe, with a kerb weight of 1575kg. In addition, the Roadster will still do 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds - just one tenth down.
Top speed however remains somewhat a mystery, with Lamborghini confirming only that it will do ‘more than 350km/h’ (over 217mph).
Technical features on the new car include an electronically manoeuvrable rear window panel, and the same magnetic dampers that work so gallantly on the coupe.
The Roadster will arrive in Britain in early-2016, with £28,000 being added to the £350,000 price tag of the original Aventador.
