    For sale
    £26,995

FOR SALE A mind-blowing Ford Capri 2.8 Injection Special with a remarkable 8,334 miles. EQUIPMENT Remote control driver’s door mirror, body-coloured grille, lamp bezels body-coloured, power assisted steering, front and rear spoilers, tailgate wash/wipe, tinted glass all round, ammeter and oil pressure gauge, tachometer, quartz analogue clock, courtesy lights, perforated black headlining, front reclining Recaro seats, three-spoke leather covered steering wheel, tilting/sliding steel sunroof, boot light, instrument brightness control. Factory options; Black paintwork. Dealer options: Mudflaps, Ford floor mats, Toad A1606 Alarm. EXTERIOR This outstanding unrestored Ford Capri 2.8 Injection is one of the final cars made, and having covered a genuine 8,334 miles from new, this is without question an exceptionally special car. A cost option when new, the factory original paintwork in Ford Black, (Code A9), boasts a near flawless finish and deep mirror shine. The front displays a few small stone chips and touched in markings, entirely minimal and forgiven for such an original example. To further delight the connoisseur is the supplying Ford Main Dealer, Cuff Miller, number plates, mud flaps and tax disc holder all remaining fitted. All trim sections and decals are preserved with no damage from exposure to elements, and all light lenses are original Hella fitment with Ford and ‘Made in England, lettering. A super low mileage and beautifully preserved Capri, the jewel in any Ford collection. INTERIOR An interior that must be seen to be believed and perhaps the most special part of the car. Entirely commensurate with the 8,334 miles covered, the interior condition is impossible to replicate and even extends to retention of the original Ford smell! The supportive Recaro seats in grey high-grade leather with ‘Strobe’ pattern fabric centre panels, (Code Q5), are spotlessly clean with firm seat structure. The driver’s seat upper bolster has some very light furring to the stitching as well as the near impossible to find removable back rest pads in matching ‘Strobe’ pattern. The door cards, headlining and trim sections are as new and the deep pile grey carpeting is pristine having been protected from new by Ford tailored floor mats. The leather covered steering wheel and gear knob are perfect with natural veins prominent, a trait of such low mileage. The factory fresh dashboard has no cracks whatsoever and all switchgear and controls are as new with bright white lettering. The factory fitted ESRT 32PS stereo cassette and electric aerial are fully operational. Originality seekers with delight further at service stickers in the door shuts and unspoilt pin-straight parcel shelf, as well as factory build stickers and foam insulation pads preserved in the boot floor. The term time warp is entirely suitable in this instance. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The Capri 2.8 Injection was the first offering of the new Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) operation that had recently been set up in Dunton, Essex. SVE added a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system, an oil/water heat exchanger, viscous coupled fan and an improved radiator making the 158 BHP capable of 130mph and 0-60mph in 7.9 seconds. The fantastic engine bay is fastidiously standard with Motorcraft service items, factory plates and stickers and Ford wing stampings clear to see. A quality GES Ltd stainless steel exhaust with lifetime guarantee was fitted in 2014. The 5 speed gearbox is direct and progression through the range is effortless. This Capri is as close to a new car driving experience as you will experience. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES The factory 7-spoke alloy wheels are unrestored with correct Ford badged centre caps and factory weights. Light aging is evident along with some discolouration to the caps. A collectable and highly prized full set of five Goodyear Eagle NCT 60 tyres have remained on the car since new with the spare wheel completely virgin with coloured banding to the tyres! The hydraulic dual-line servo-assisted brakes with ventilated front discs unique on the 2.8 Special stop the car quickly and in a straight line. HISTORY FILE The very last Ford Capri was built in December 1986. Built in November 1986 at the Cologne Plant in Germany, this very late 2.8 Injection Special was registered new on 28th February 1987. The supplying Ford Main Dealer was Cuff Miller & Co Ltd of Littlehampton, Sussex. Clearly keen on brand exposure, the Cuff Miller branding can be found of the mud flaps, tax disc holder, number plates and document wallet as well as of course their supplying dealer stamp in the original service book! Just three owners from new are fully traceable and the first issue blue V5 has been kept. A wonderful part of the history file is the two factory build and specification sheets. The document wallet holds all handbooks, operating guides, radio instructions and dealership literature as well as the Salesman’s business card. Furthermore, the history file holds previous MOT certificates, a service invoice for May 2017 with just 30 miles covered since and two sets of keys. A unique opportunity to acquire an iconic unmolested Capri 2.8 injection with amazing credentials and condition to match. One for the serious collector. MOT July 2019, HPI Clear. The bright green epoxy resin used to bond the aluminium at factory is still bright and the V.I.N. stamped in the chassis to the offside rear wheel arch area is clearly visible. The factory fitted windscreen is beginning to whiten at the lower corners and one headlight cluster has slight lifting to the inner bowl, cosmetic observations only. Wheel arch apertures and the flat underside to aid aerodynamics are very clean. The Black material hood and simple roof apparatus is perfect and the hex key removal tool is correctly housed behind the driver’s seat. An impeccably preserved Lotus Elise Series 1. INTERIOR Engineering excellence is built into the interior with the aim to save weight and provide ultimate driver focused enjoyment. The optional Tan Leather sports seats are in pristine condition and the unique Lotus/Nardi steering wheel is unmarked with natural surface veins clearly defined. The doors remain open thanks to undamaged door retaining plates and the windows wind up and down smoothly. An interior Colin Chapman would be proud of. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION Entirely standard and despite the low mileage the car has benefited from regular Lotus main dealer and specialist servicing, with 12 stamped entries in the service book the most recent by main dealer, Leven Lotus of Edinburgh, in June 2018 at 4,714 miles. The four cylinder in line 16 valve engine with aluminium engine block and cylinder head displaces 1796cc to produce 118bhp at 5500rpm and 165Nm torque at 3000rpm. Lightweight construction, rear wheel drive and mid-mounted engine, this ticks the core race car credentials and the driving experience is a must for any petrolhead. The clean engine bay and front compartment display a fully intact heat insulation panel, factory identification sticker, PDI markings and labels. The 5-speed close ratio gearbox with short throw is precise and direct. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Unique to Lotus are the 5 twin spoke light alloy wheels which are unmarked except for a light chip to one rear wheel. The Lotus centre badges are pristine and those with a keen eye for originality will note the collector pleasing factory fitted Pirelli PZero tyres still showing excellent tread. Cast iron 282mm ventilated discs with unique Lotus/AP Racing opposed piston front calipers stop the car safely and quickly. HISTORY FILE A car with an interesting and heart-warming history! The first and only owner, Mr Pier Sinforiani, paid the impressive sum of £0.00 for the car having won first prize in a Daily Record newspaper competition in 1998. Supplied direct from Lotus Cars Ltd Service Department, the car was registered new on 3rd March 1998 and the original vehicle checklist and despatch record and somewhat irrelevant (in this instance) price list is held in the history file! Mr Sinforiani’s amazing fortunate luck came at a wonderful moment just as he retired, ready for him to enjoy the car socially in dry conditions only. The car was strictly garaged at all times and now well into his 80’s, the decision to part with his prized Lotus has been carefully decided. Despite the very low mileage of just 4,757 miles, there are 12 stamped entries in the service booklet with the most recent by main dealer, Leven Lotus of Edinburgh, in June 2018 at 4,714 miles. The corresponding Leven Lotus service is held in the history file along with previous MOT certificates and other invoices. A documented and stamped timing belt change has been carried out at 4,514 miles and is within time. The Elise document wallet holds all handbooks, factory alarm installation certificate and point of sale literature as well as the important factory build sticker and an unused tax disc holder. Completing the history file is an original sales brochure and both keys supplied with the car when new. One owner and exceptionally low mileage, this Elise is for the demanding connoisseur seeking one of Hethel’s finest, both in condition and credentials. MOT August 2019, HPI Clear. Alternatively If you’d like to move your vehicle on quickly and efficiently with minimal delay then we can make an offer on an outright purchase basis with payment and collection arranged soon after. A rare surviving Austin Metro Automatic with an incredible 16,464 miles from new. EQUIPMENT All steel unitary construction, laminated windscreen, twin door mirrors, locking concealed fuel filler, grey moulded bumpers, side rubbing strip, styled halogen headlamps, twin rear fog lamps, loadspace lamp, front head restraints, rear parcel shelf, header rail console with digital clock, floor mounted centre console, heated rear window, variable-delay intermittent wipers, rear wash/wipe, cigar lighter, push-button pre-selector LW/MW radio. Dealer options; Rear mudflaps. EXTERIOR Finished in factory original colour Champagne Beige, (Code LMK), this fantastic and rare edition Metro Automatic has covered a remarkable 16,464 miles from new and is preserved in superb condition. The paintwork boasts a wonderful polished shine and uniform finish, and all panels are straight and damage free. With many Metro’s having succumbed to the harshness of daily use and the elements in the 1980’s, it is a true delight to see original features such as factory spot welds to the rear arches as well as supplying Austin-Rover dealer fitted number plates, rear screen sticker and tax disc holder. Only very close scrutiny will reveal light markings and touched in scratches, utterly insignificant and barely worthy of mention. The front and rear light clusters and even both side repeaters and rear fog lamps are factory fitment with the Austin logo to the lenses. Once a common sight on our roads, this fantastic example really does stir up nostalgia. INTERIOR The Metro Automatic was factory built to the same specification as the HLE model and as such featured higher levels of equipment to include, variable-delay intermittent wipers, header rail console with digital clock and Plain and Moonstripe Tweed trim with padded front head restraints. A testament to the incredible low mileage, the seats in the Flint colour scheme, (Code CNC), remain in pristine condition with no damage or wear whatsoever. All interior trim is as new and could almost convince you that you are in a 1985 Austin Rover showroom! Low mileage indicators include prominent veins to the steering wheel and factory fresh controls and switchgear. The push-button pre-selector LW/MW radio works perfectly but digital clock is not functioning. Reminiscent of a far simpler motoring era, this highly collectable Metro is truly delightful. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The legendary and time proven A-Series engine of 1275cc displacement needs no introduction. Producing an ample 62bhp, this sedate Metro offers a relaxed driving experience with a top speed of 92mph and 0-60 in 15.5 seconds. The engine bay is spotlessly clean and factory plates, stickers, panel stampings, and protective wax visible. Factory fitted with an oil cooler as standard on the Automatic model, the four-speed automatic transmission with manual overide facility operates exactly as it should. Even the special, directional light filter which prevents the illuminated gear selector markings from reflecting in the windscreen at night remains effectual and fully functional. Ideal for the classic show circuit and every day retro motoring! WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Factory standard pressed steel TD wheels remain fitted and are shod in premium brand 165/65 R315 TD tyres which include original fitment, whereby renewal prior to regular use would be a wise safety precaution. The dual line servo-assisted brakes with ventilated front discs pull the car up quickly and safely. HISTORY FILE Registered new on 1st October 1985 by Austin Rover Main Dealers and Leycare approved outlet, Brooks of Martock, this cherished Metro has covered an exceptionally low 16,464 miles from new! An Austin Rover cars sales brochure from 1985 with accessories booklet and price list tells you how a brand-new Metro Automatic would have cost £5,916.46 at the time. The history file is huge and contains a large folder of neatly filed service invoices as well as every MOT certificate dating back to the early 1990’s. The extensive service history fully verifies the mileage and offers an insight to the fastidious maintenance this car has enjoyed. With Metro’s fast becoming a symbol of the era and increasingly collectable, this pampered example is without question of the best in existence. MOT August 2019, HPI Clear. A collaboration of Subaru UK, Prodrive, Subaru Japan and Subaru Tecnica International, (STI). Prodrive—the outfit responsible for race-prepping Subaru’s championship winning rally cars—was brought in to specially develop said cars, of which only 1,000 were built, all in Sonic Blue. Costing £31,495 when new and an instant hit, Richard Burns the British rally driver who won the 2001 World Rally Championship, is quoted in the sales brochure as saying, ‘…weight and feel is better even than the RB5…straight line as quick as a rally car… turn in is sharper, but there’s no hint of twitchiness’. A very important piece of Subaru history and UK Special Editions. EQUIPMENT Bonnet scoop, 90mm Hella H4 driving lamps, colour-keyed mirrors, door handles and side skirts, unique rear spoiler, Momo steering wheel, air conditioning, quick shift, twin airbags, RAC Trackstar, electric windows and mirrors, power steering, adjustable steering wheel, rear wiper, internal boot and fuel release, Quartz digital clock, Clarion DRX6575Rz CD player. EXTERIOR The striking Sonic Blue paintwork gleams from pampered indoor storage and limited exposure to the elements thanks to just 4,786 miles being covered. From the McLaren F1 to the Subaru WRC car the Peter Stevens design credentials are timeless, purposeful and an instant hit from all angles. The P1 runs on 20mm lower than standard Turbos on Eibach springs and STI dampers and this example is factory correct in every respect. The P1 driving lamp covers supplied when new remain unused and the supplying dealer window sticker is attached. All apertures are spotlessly clean and the underside is a purists dream having never been stripped, cleaned and refurbished. One for the fastidious perfectionist. INTERIOR As close to factory fresh as feasibly possible some 18 years after rolling off the production line. Wing-backed Prodrive branded sports bucket seats show no wear and the only owner from new paid extra for Prodrive carpet mats and boot liner along with the Subaru rubber mats! The red stitching on the Momo steering wheel and gear knob is vivid and the optional upgraded Clarion CD player along with all other controls function correctly. The glass has all stickers attached. Quite possibly the ultimate P1. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION Phenomenal. Creating 280bhp, (some 69bhp more than a standard Impreza Turbo) a hard-edged exhaust note combined with a whistle of turbo is intoxicatingly addictive. 0-60mph is dispatched in 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 155mph is quoted in a car weighing just 1,275kg. The engine bay is standard and very clean with the numbered plaque proudly displaying 0065. The quick shift short throw gear change maximises full use of the power. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Gorgeous titanium effect 17” Prodrive O.Z. alloys as used on the year 2000 World Rally Cars are unmarked and still shod in the factory Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico 205/45 ZR17 tyres. Powerful disc brakes all-round with ABS stop the car quickly. HISTORY FILE This incredible UK Subaru Impreza P1 Number 0065 of 1000 was supplied new by Subaru and Izuzu Main Dealers, Maugers Garage Ltd on the 6th October 2000. Residing with its only owner until July 2018 it has covered just 4,876 miles from new and remains completely standard and original. The vehicle has four Main Dealer entries in the service book and all other handbooks, guides and sales literature are included. The vehicle is also supplied with the ‘thank you’ letter on behalf of Subaru (UK) Limited signed by Jon Nealon the Marketing Director at the time congratulating the only owner of becoming one of 1,000 people in the world to actually own a P1. The Subaru Impreza P1 Story on a VHS tape and as given to each owner when new is included as are two key fobs and keys. Two different sales brochures are present along with a unique P1 accessory brochure from which a P1 umbrella was ordered and remains with the car! This classic Scooby was iconic from launch with it having the cachet of Prodrive's first road car project and UK Limited Edition numbers. Grab the best! MOT August 2019 and HPI Clear. Email correspondence between long term owner Mr Volante and the most recent keeper is kept in the history file along with a full ownership trace. In this delightful and informative exchange, Mr Volante regaled stories of trips to Durban, Johannesburg and more local Kruger Park. The paintwork presents beautifully with a deep uniform shine and high polished finish. The elegant curvaceous shape of this iconic model can be fully appreciated with the all panels straight and free from damage other than a minor defect to the top of the passenger front wing. The extensive high-quality chrome finishers are undamaged and in excellent order with only very light aging evident upon close scrutiny. Advocates for originality will note Lucas light fitments and lenses including the Jaguar rear number plate lamp and small side lights incorporated into the front wings which show some discolouration to the lenses. The original rubber trim sections are showing age related deterioration. A magnificent classic Jaguar, a true British Icon. INTERIOR The Dunlopillo foam rubber seat cushions covered in Ambla leather hide in rich Red is well preserved with the leather fully intact and soft, and displaying only light aging. The superbly comfortable split bench front seats have the beautifully machined jaguar seat belt clasps and a sense of occasion surrounds the occupants on every journey! Reminiscent of a bygone luxury motoring age, even the leather and wood scent will ignite fond nostalgia. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The 2.4 litre Jaguar XK engine is the factory fitted unit and is therefore matching numbers. Featuring the correct twin SU HS6 semi-downdraught carburettors and dual exhaust system, output is quoted at 133bhp at 5500rpm. The manually operated four-speed all-synchromesh gearbox changes gear smoothly with no slip but a high biting point and features factory optional Laycock de Normanville overdrive. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Pressed steel bolt-on disc wheels are coloured coded and dressed in the original embellishers and Jaguar hubcaps, and five matching quality Vredestein Sprint ST 185 SR15 are period style fitment with excellent tread. HISTORY FILE Built on the 14th September 1966 at the Jaguar Plant in Coventry, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate dated 19th June 2018 confirms this example is factory perfect in every respect. Despatched to the supplying dealer, Mann Edgerton on the 31st October 1966 and first registered on the 17th March 1967. Incredibly, the car has remained in the ownership of just two families, all fully traceable in the impressive history file. The first owner is confirmed in both copies of the original buff log book and Heritage Certificate as a Mr Frank Gee, who purchased the car through his company FA & E Gee Ltd before selling to family member Reginald Gee in June 1977. A used car sales invoice from October 1979 confirms the purchase by the next owner, Dr Alfred McKenzie, for the sum of £3,450.00, at which time the car had covered 31,218 miles. Incredibly the car remained in the ownership of Dr McKenzie for 37 years, and only upon his passing has ownership transferred to his son, Colin McKenzie. The history file features a comprehensive record of servicing and maintenance including most notably many invoices from respected specialist, David Wall Vintage and Classic Cars, totalling thousands of pounds and dating back to 1991. The original vehicle handbook and point of sale literature have been kept along with a large fold-out maintenance chart, RAC running-in sign and Jaguar Driver’s Club correspondence. This matching numbers example having covered just 51,025 miles benefits from very unusual fully traceable ownership from new and will continue to delight the next deserving keeper. An incredible Ford Escort Mk5 RS2000 with only 12,462 miles. EQUIPMENT Twin bonnet power bulges, four beam headlights, integral fog lights, long range driving lights, tailgate spoiler, power steering, electric front windows, quickclear heated windscreen and washer jets, slide/tilt sunroof, central locking, electric heated powered mirrors, variable reach sports steering wheel, Recaro seats, cassette stowage, coin slots, trinket tray, lights on audible warning, courtesy light delay, 60/40 split rear back rest. EXTERIOR This original example is finished in optional metallic Pacifica Blue, (Code J2), which gleams thanks to indoor heated storage and very low miles. The understated looks were Fords intentions to keep away from the Boy Racer image but bonnet power bulges, revised front grille and bumper, colour coded side skirts and rear spoiler soon inform the knowledgeable. The coveted Rallye Sport badging along with all other trim is immaculate. Minor stone chips to the bonnet and a very slight roof mark prove originality and will not disappoint the perfection seeking owner. Supplying Ford dealer number plates remain fitted along with period window stickers. All apertures are spotlessly clean and the underside still displays Ford PDI colour dabs including those on the coil springs. A totally original, unspoilt and preserved example, very difficult to better. INTERIOR The plush Panache velour fabric in Dark grey complements the sports ambience of the car and is immaculate. The special Recaro seats are comfortable and supportive with no wear and all carpets have been protected from new by genuine rubber Ford mats. The car retains a distinct new car aroma. All controls operate with slickness and ease and the unique lighting on the dash in orange with red detailing is unmistakable. A section of red trim has lifted slightly on the dash and the steering wheel and gear knob still have prominent texture and grain thanks to the ultra-low mileage. The boot area is immaculate with a period boot tidy still attached and the parcel shelf is pin straight. An outstanding Ford RS Ford interior. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The inline 4-cylinder 2.0 DOHC 16v engine produces 150bhp and propels the car from 0-60mph in 8 secs and on to a top speed of 129mph. Both the 16-valve DOHC engine and the transverse application of the MTX 75 transmission was specifically developed for the RS2000 helping to utilise the power while offering a slick smooth gear change. The engine bay is a real testimonial to the safe keep and low mileage and would suit the show circuit. A recent major service at a Ford Main Dealer in June 2018 has been carried out. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Stunning five spoke cast aluminium wheels measuring 6X15 are polished to a lustre finish and lacquered which are correct and unique to the early Mk5 RS2000. Matching Bridgestone Potenza 195/50 R15 tyres have ample tread and the spare is an unused factory Uniroyal item. Teves two-channel anti-lock braking system brings the car to an assured stop. HISTORY FILE This pre-facelift Mk5 Ford Escort RS2000 was built in April 1992 and registered by Lex English Ford to a Mr M Tricksey. He took delivery on the 6th February 1993 and being the consciences type the history file reveals he opted for the Ford Extra Cover Warranty and specified the Dealer to install an immobiliser, (still fitted), prior to collecting the car. He remained the owner until October 1996 when the second owner, Matthew Smith, purchased the car with less than 2,000 miles. Mr Smith, a Ford fanatic, has remained the only custodian since and used the vehicle sparingly having now covered just 12,462 miles. MOT history helps track the few miles covered along with four entries in the original service book. The most recent being a major service in June 2018 by Ford Main Dealer, TC Harrison. The history file is neatly presented with a collection of tax discs up to 2002, MOT certificates and original supplying literature from Lex English Ford. All handbooks, spare keys and brochures are present. There are also some period magazines with road tests collected by Mr Smith. This example represents a true low mileage survivor and one for the discerning modern classic car collector. MOT December 2018, HPI Clear. The seats are beautifully preserved and commensurate with the low mileage and all seat structure is fully intact with no loss of shape. One miniscule mark to the driver’s seat base can be seen and there is a virtually invisible nick to the leather upper bolster. The deep pile carpets are pristine having been protected from new by Mercedes over mats. The fascia is perfect and all the gauges, controls and electrics operate exactly as they should, including the optional Philips 750 radio cassette. The rear luggage area has the original first aid kit in the side holder and the boot area has the factory supplied toolkit as well as the original warning triangle. Originality seekers will note the rear light clusters complete with delicate manufacturer stickers still attached. Hugely advanced ergonomically and from an era when Mercedes-Benz set the standard for all makers to emulate. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The six-cylinder in-line engine fitted to the 280SL model offered a power output quoted in the manufacturer literature of 185hp and 240Nm of torque, enough to propel this driving machine to a maximum speed of 121mph whilst 0-60 is achieved in 10.01 seconds. The engine bay is spotless and retains all manufacturer stickers, plates and panel stampings. The low mileage credentials are evident in the perfect under-bonnet insulation panel which is usually deteriorated. The four-speed automatic transmission is flawless in operation with positive kickdown. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES The original 12-hole colour coded hubcaps with chromium plated rims are unrestored and in excellent order with only light hairline scratches to the outer edges. Quality matching Michelin Energy 195/70 R14 tyres have masses of tread and the unused spare wheel remains shod in the factory Continental Supercontact tyre which still displays the coloured banding! Dual-circuit servo assisted brakes with discs to all four wheels offer powerful stopping capabilities. HISTORY FILE This 280SL was first registered on 9th August 1985 by Mercedes-Benz Main Dealer, Jim Russell of Norfolk. Having covered just 57,069 miles from new with only three former keepers, this example is highly desirable and suitable for the avid collector. The Mercedes plastic wallet houses all handbooks, guides and dealership literature as well as both genuine Mercedes roof levers neatly stored in the pouch holder. The original service and maintenance booklet displays the factory build card attached to the rear sleeve along with 10 stamped entries, all of which are Mercedes Main Dealer, with eight being the original supplying dealer, Jim Russell. The most recent stamped entry by Mercedes-Benz of Leeds was in May 2018 at 57,005 miles and there are two further service invoices in addition to the service record including a major service in 2016. The history folder consists of a large collection of invoices and MOT certificates as well as an original sales brochure. A beautifully presented example, this highly sought-after classic Mercedes-Benz will delight the new appreciative owner. MOT May 2019, HPI clear. The original service book contains 23 stamped entries, every one being an Audi Main Dealer and in fact the same dealer in Leicester has cared for the car every year since 1998! Each stamped entry has the corresponding Audi service invoice and maintenance checklist in the history file along with every single MOT certificate since the first in 1999. HISTORY FILE Registered new on the 15th August 1989 by Volkswagen Main Dealer, Links Garage in Derbyshire, the first owner was a Mr William Hird. Eventually in 2010, Mr Green was given permission to buy the car, but only after a strict vetting process! Used by Mr Green for shows and VW events the car has continued to lead a pampered life. HISTORY FILE Registered new on the 16th November 1973 as a humble Escort 1100L, this car led an unassuming life throughout the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s, and it was into the millennium that the cars transformation was undertaken in the hands of eclectic classic car collector, Robert McMillon. Having searched extensively for a Mk1 RS2000, Robert became disheartened with many non-genuine examples masquerading as genuine AVO cars and the few genuine examples he could find were in such poor order. This led Robert to make the decision to build his own RS2000 recreation, exacting to his own specification and standard. The car as it stands today is a testament to his dedication, skill and knowledge and represents everything that the original Mk1 RS2000 stands for at a fraction of the price! A superb achievement, huge fun and highly usable. MOT June 2019, Tax Exempt, HPI Clear.
