  • Audi TT

    £13,995

FOR SALE One of 800 special edition cars, an Audi Quattro TT Sport with just 49,505 miles. EQUIPMENT Galvanised body with crumple zones, side impact bars, xenon lights, headlamp cleaning system, front and side airbags, Aerodynamic Styling Package, Alcantara/Leather upholstery, Alcantara gear knob, handbrake and steering wheel, Recaro bucket seats with body coloured seat backs, stability bar replacing rear seats, tyre mobility system replacing spare wheel, Driver Information System (DIS), Audi Chorus sound system. Factory options: BOSE speaker system, electronic climate control. EXTERIOR The only Audi TT model built by Audi AG high-performance specialist subsidiary Quattro GmbH in Germany, the Quattro TT Sport or TT Club Sport as it was known in Europe was built in very limited numbers. Just 800 UK cars were produced, less than the 1000 cars originally intended, and this example finished in original Phantom Black (code LZ9Y) is simply exceptional. The low mileage and enthusiast owner credentials are obvious and even the strictest perfection seeker will struggle to fault the finish. Correct black exhaust tips and wider arch spats are unique for the TT Sport. An outstanding example of this much revered and coveted TT Coupe. INTERIOR Having covered such few miles, the interior of this Audi TT remains in remarkable condition. The original Recaro Bucket seats with Phantom Black seat backs intended for the TT Sport remain fitted and are alternative to the less desirable standard sport seats that were available as a no cost option chosen by some buyers on comfort grounds. The black alcantara/leather seats coverings (code TW) are in fantastic order. All trims pieces, controls and functions are virtually as new with only minor bobbling to the alcantara covering on the steering wheel. Obvious weight saving measures to contribute towards to overall weight loss of 75kg is achieved by a stability bar and luggage net in place of the rear seat, and removal of the spare wheel and heated seats. The discreet and unique Quattro Sport badge above the glove box acts as a subtle hint towards this very special TT’s capabilities. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The increased power from the 1.8 turbocharged engine rising to 240bhp is the result of a different mapping profile and offers an explosive 0-60mph time of 5.7 seconds and limited top speed of 155mph. Further weight saving and weight distribution measures were achieved by the removal of the rear counterweight and relocation of the battery to the rear of the vehicle. The engine compartment is unmolested, spotless and has all stickers and plates clearly visible. The Quattro permanent four-wheel drive system mated to a precise 6-speed gearbox offers phenomenal stability and driver enjoyment. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Unique to the Quattro Sport and in perfect order, the original 8J x 18 front and 8.5J x 18 rear alloys wheels remain fitted and are shod in the correct 235/40 R18 Goodyear Eagle tyres with masses of tread. The braking system offers assured and safe braking power with the callipers painted red as another distinguishing feature of the Quattro Sport. Without question the most desirable production TT driving experience and this example is truly exceptional. HISTORY FILE Supplied new on 31st May 2005 by Lancaster Audi, this incredible example has covered just 49,505 miles from new with just three enthusiast keepers. The immaculately presented history file documents full main dealer service history with a fully stamped service booklet containing nine stamped entries and supporting invoices. There are two documented cambelt and water pump changes, the most recent being in 2015 at 45,386 miles. The Haldex coupling oil and filter change is documented at Portadown Audi in 2014 at 42,575 miles. All handbooks are contained within the smart black A5 wallet including Audi staff business cards and point of sale literature. Two sets of keys with number tags still attached complete the history file. Exemplary in every respect, this cossetted Audi TT Quattro Sport has wanted from nothing and will certainly impress the discerning enthusiast seeking the best. MOT June 2017, HPI Clear. INTERIOR The interior in this remarkable example remains in beautiful condition and largely as Ford intended other than a period Audioline cassette player and period alarm. The ‘Storm’ and Crushed Velour interior in Shark Grey (Code KW) is immaculate and free from tears, rips or discolouration. The red laser line around the console is bright and unbroken and the soft finish dashboard is perfect. The Shark Grey loop pile carpet is spotless having been protected by carpet mats and the Grey Mylar sidewall and rear quarter finishers are pristine. All switchgear is functional and the original trimmed parcel shelf is intact, straight and complete with the correct rubber hangers. A delightfully period unspoilt interior, reminiscent of the 1980’s hot hatch phenomenon. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The time proven transverse mounted 1600 OHV engine with Weber twin-venturi carburettor develops an ample 84BHP in such a lightweight and nimble car, achieving a top speed of 105mph and 0-60 in just 9.3 seconds. The standard specification automatic choke and electronic ignition are both present and the noise from the standard rear Ford exhaust is unmissable. All factory stickers and identification plates are visible within a very clean engine bay. The four speed synchromesh gearbox with remote shift is light and exact, a joy to use. A real ‘smile on your face’ experience. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Special ‘pepperpot’ 13” X 6” alloys wheel with ultra low profile branded 185/60HR13 tyres adorn the car and amazingly have never been refurbished. A few markings are visible. The spare alloy wheel sits in the boot wheel housing which incorporates the correct ‘bulged’ rear lower valance designed to accommodate the enlarged alloy wheel compared with lower Fiesta models. The dual line servo assisted brakes with ventilated 9.4” front discs and 7.0” rear drums bring the car up to a steady, straight and assured halt. HISTORY FILE Registered new on 11th August 1982 by Ford Main Dealers Central Garage Hucknall Ltd, this enthusiast owned example has only ever had four former keepers. All the handbooks, instruction guides are neatly contained within two A4 folders brimmed with history. This comprises of old MOT certificates, tax discs, invoices, XR Owners Club material and entrance cards to various shows where the car was a main exhibit. As a memento of its previous success on the show circuit a number of scored judging forms are included. Representing a fantastic element of Ford’s historic sporting pedigree, this hugely collectable model has become increasingly rare in recent years and desirability is rightly high. Perfectionists and VW purists will enjoy pointing out all the factory stickers, tags and labels often lost within the cars first few weeks of usage. Engine detail is factory fresh. A bold statement, but possibly the best Volkswagen Beetle available. INTERIOR The rich interior of this very rare Beetle offers unique blue special leather grained seating with plush corduroy insets. Matching thick, colour-coordinated carpeting and a rosewood dash are further luxury distinguishing features along with a leather grained steering wheel. The nostalgic VW smell is still detectable! Opening the lockable glove box even reveals the VW pack of fuses as supplied when new and no radio has been fitted so the blanking plate is still in situ. The instruction sticker on the steering wheel is still intact. The driver’s seat base has a repair during its time in a Volkswagen Main Dealer. The under bonnet cardboard liner is simply remarkable. Time warp is a term used freely, but completely justified with this collectable and unique vehicle ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The air-cooled rear mounted horizontally opposed engine produces 48bhp from its 1584cc displacement enabling a top speed of 84mph. La Grande Bug was one of the first Super Beetles to have electronic fuel injection fitted as standard enabling wonderfully smooth performance and 33mpg. The fully synchronized 4-speed gearbox works perfectly. Due to the low miles covered it would be advisable to re-commission the vehicle despite the mechanical wellbeing if the new owner plans to put the car into regular use. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES 4.5J Lemmertz sport GT wheels are as new and show all the VW stampings which are crystal clear along with factory fitted wheel weights. All tyres are incredibly still the first Goodyear tubeless bias ply type in perfect order. Dual circuit drums front and rear will require an overhaul if regular use is intended. HISTORY FILE The story of this example begins in the Williams VW Dealership, Lancing, Michigan in the USA when proprietor, Mr Williams, took delivery of this limited edition La Grande Bug. Realising that this was something very special with amenities not customarily found in a Bug it was held back from sale to keep for his children to use when they went off to college. However, VW introduced newer models with better safety features so a Golf was the chosen mode of transport. Mr Williams kept the vehicle in one of his VW Showrooms all the way up until retirement in 2010 when a renowned UK VW collector, Mr Willcock, found out about it. Knowing that a 242-mile 1970’s VW Beetle is not something that comes up for sale too often, especially not one that is a limited edition like this, he jumped on it! Last sold by KGF Classic Cars in July 2014 we are delighted to offer this vehicle to market again. A collection of magazine features, coveted Meguiars trophy from the Classic Motor Show appearance, and all importation/duty paid paperwork are included. The vehicle has never been registered. HISTORY FILE Registered new on 1st May 1990 by Austin Rover Main Dealers D.C.Cook of Rotherham, the first keeper Mr William Wood purchased his beloved Mini as a 60th birthday and retirement present to himself. Dealer options specified from new by him included car alarm, centre console unit and full Waxoyl treatment. The original presentation pack given to the first owner when each Thirty model was new is present and complete in the history file. This pack incorporates a hardback book outlining the 1959-1989 history of the Mini (still in the cellophane wrapper), miniature Corgi model painted in the correct Cherry Red and a certificate confirming build number 1268. Beautifully preserved, this presentation pack only very rarely remained with these cars and now represents a collectable piece in itself. Minimal usage due to his early passing, the vehicle remained in Mr Wood’s name until January 2014. After upmost scrutiny and vetting by his family who were adamant the Mini must go to a true enthusiast, the car was purchased by Mr Richard Hoar, a well known club member. A respected Mini enthusiast and owner of countless Mini’s in his lifetime, this Thirty formed part of his collection alongside a stunning Mk1 Cooper and attended shows and club outings. The history file further consists of the original leather bound wallet containing the service booklet and handbook. KGF Classic Cars last sold the car in 2014 and are delighted to offer it again. *SIMILAR QUALITY CARS ALWAYS REQUIRED* SOLD Thinking of selling? Our proven commission sale or SOR (Sale or Return) program is a great way to utilise and access our professional services and facilities while still maximising the return from your vehicle with minimal hassle, stress and time, If you’d like to take advantage of this then please get in touch for further information. Alternatively If you’d like to move your vehicle on quickly and efficiently with minimal delay then we can make an offer on an outright purchase basis with payment and collection arranged soon after. A genuine UK RHD Porsche 356B/S (T6) with amazing provenance. EQUIPMENT Panoramic windshield, windshield washer system, glare proof rear view mirror, large rear window, fuel valve, shift lever lock, reclining front seats, rear buckets seats with folding back rest, variable instrument illumination, accessory plug, speedometer with total and trip mileage, tachometer, oil temperature gauge, electric clock, lockable glove compartment. Dealer accessories; Magnetic ashtray, cigarette lighter, courtesy grip for passenger, clothes hanger, map pockets. MODEL HISTORY Designed by company employee Erwin Komenda and introduced in 1948 in Austria, the hugely significant Porsche 356 Series is regarded as the first ‘production’ Porsche with steel bodies built by The Reutter Company who later became the seat manufacturer Recaro. The 356 was built in four distinct series, the ‘pre A’ followed by the 356A, B and finally C. The ‘pre A’ vehicles are most notably distinguishable by the split and then later centre creased windscreens, whereas from 1955 with the 356A, the windscreens were changed for a curved one piece design. This remarkable 356B/S is the redesigned T6 model introduced in 1962 and is identifiable by the twin engine lid grilles and larger rear window. With the introduction of front disc brakes to the 356B T6 and no other visible alterations, the model was finally badged as the 356C. EXTERIOR A genuine UK supplied RHD vehicle, this hugely desirable 356B/S example is finished in its original colour of Porsche Ruby Red (Code 702). The paintwork boasts a beautiful deep shine and uniform finish to fully accentuate the unmistakable lines of this iconic Coupe. Restored in the early 1990’s and with enthusiast use since, there are only minor signs of wear worthy of mention. The absence of an external fuel filler lid in the front wing is correct for a genuine RHD example. All trim sections, lights and badges are remarkably good and the quality chrome and stainless steel pieces are beautifully preserved. There are some small splits to the rear window rubbers. Absolute Porsche royalty. INTERIOR The originality and unmolested appeal of this hand crafted interior will amaze and delight any classic Porsche connoisseur. The factory Grey Leatherette seat coverings are incredibly well preserved with matching door cards fully intact and showing only light fading. The original cushioned topped dashboard houses the beautifully ornate yet fully functional controls, instruments and gauges. The thin three spoke steering wheel with inner ring and Porsche Crest is a styling marvel in itself. Features such as the magnetic ashtray, fuel valve and shift lock remain exactly as Porsche intended. The headlining is mildly discoloured. A wonderful interior loyal to its Porsche heritage. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The original four cylinder ‘flat four’ engine of 1582cc displacement in this genuine S model produces 75hp at 5000rpm. The factory correct twin Zenith 32 NDIX carburettor set up has been retained along with the automatic choke. The engine bay is beautifully clean with stickers and identification stampings clear to see and affirming the matching number credentials. The four speed synchronised Servomesh gearbox is light and exact. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Authentic Porsche 4.5J x 15 steel disc wheels with deep centre rims and Porsche emblem are shod in quality Michelin 165 HR15 tyres. The rims and caps are generally excellent although slight ageing is evident. 280mm drums all round feel positive and bring the car up safely. HISTORY FILE A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms that this matching numbers genuine 356B/S example was manufactured as a RHD vehicle with a production completion date of March 1962. Registered on 29th March 1962 by Porsche Main Agent A.F.N. Limited of Isleworth, there is correspondence between them and first owner Mr G Lowe Esq as well as extensive service history whereby the car was maintained by A.F.N. Limited until the late 1970’s. Furthermore, the colossal history file encompasses a lifetime of cherished ownership from new until present day. There are also many previous MOT certificates dating back as far as 1970. The beautifully presented and comprehensive history file also includes publications from Porsche Club GB and the Porsche 356 Registry with this car featured as well has handbooks and manuals. A true motoring icon and hugely significant chapter in Porsche history. Simply a must for any Porsche enthusiast. MOT August 2017, HPI Clear. An original UK supplied MGA 1500 Roadster with exceptional provenance EQUIPMENT Safety glass windshield, tonneau cover, black hood, sidescreens with signalling flap, door stowage pockets, spring spoke steering wheel, speedometer, revolution indicator, oil pressure gauge, rheostat panel light switch, map reading light, dash controlled starter switch, foot operated dipping switch, Britax seatbelts. Dealer fit: Twin fuel pumps, 12v power socket, battery isolator switch, aluminium spark plug holder, electric radiator fan. EXTERIOR Very rarely is such a genuine home market MGA offered for sale and this Orient Red stunning car is exceptional in both condition and historical provenance. The deep gloss shine reveals the pampered existence with Concours D’Elegance awards noted from as early as 1959! Scrutineers will marvel at the wheel arches in body colour, original number plates and the black folding waterproof hood still with factory side screens adopting the signalling flap along the lower edge. The chrome radiator grille with vertical slats unique to the 1500 model and bumpers have a mirror finish thanks to be rechromed by Derby plating. The flowing aerodynamic lines are absolutely gorgeous and a genuine Vanden Plas aluminium hardtop, of which only 1450 units were made by the BMC subsidiary with the correct aluminium sidescreens, is available by separate negotiation. INTERIOR A beautifully appointed interior has all the qualities of a traditional sports tourer with bucket seats still finished in the factory real Red leather. The previous owner being immensely fastidious would carry premium leather feed in the car at all times to retain the natural look missing in off-the-shelf new items. Karvel carpets with correct binding and oddities like the central dashboard-mounted horn button will please purists but for convenience a hidden 12v power outlet has been fitted, a battery isolator and an auxiliary fusebox to protect unfused circuits. All Jaeger gauges, switches and warning lamps function and this example feels factory correct in every respect. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION Lifting the bonnet will reveal a spotless engine bay and a level of detail unrivalled by most. The original 1500 British Motor Corporation B series Engine has been rebuilt by Bob West and the unleaded cylinder head by Peter Burgess so performs faultlessly. A documented and meticulous periodic servicing regime will assure perfection seeking buyers. A maximum speed of 95mph is quoted by the 68bhp power unit. A recognised 5-speed conversion has been carried out by Hi-Gear Engineering to allow comfortable cruising. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Correct factory standard steel disc-type wheels are pristine and shod in matching radial Firestone 165 R15 tyres with ample tread including the spare. The Lockhead fully compensated drum brakes to all four wheels have been completely overhauled including new copper and nickel pipes and perform faultlessly. HISTORY FILE Truly phenomenal and second to none. One of only 1,859 Home Market UK 1500 Roadsters produced this example has had a total of just five owners in 59 years and covered 77,229 miles. First registered on the 23rd April 1957 to Mr Francis Ware who sold the vehicle after one year to Kenneth George Roe, custodian for the next 23 years. As a well know figure in MG circles and having previously owned a TA and a TF he just had to have the new aerodynamic MGA and competed in various sprints and hill climbs. Although it was not primarily used as a concours car Mr Roe entered it various events all documented in the history file and noteworthy mentions are a second in class in the BARC Eastbourne Motor Rally Concours in 1959, ’Best Modern MG’ awards at the Brenwood Concours in the 1960’s and a pile of ‘First in Class’ awards at M.G.C.C Silverstone in the late 1960’s. There are a number of photos of the car in the late 50’s and early 60’s, one with the last ever Twin-Cam built and owned by Mike Ellman-Brown, a good friend of Mr Roe at the time. Letters between owners make fascinating reading and the current custodian of 18 years, Mr Parmenter, has chronically and fastidiously noted all works carried out in recognition of the unique provenance this vehicle processes and written helpful notes for the new owner. Also featured in the book by F.Wilson McComb in the History of the MG and Malcolm Green, the well-known MG historian and motoring journalist wrote an article about the car in the December 1999 MG Enthusiast magazine, all included. The car comes with a full set of manuals including the first edition operation manual and original hardback workshop manual in perfect condition. A very rare opportunity and special car. • BMW M3

    £33,795

FOR SALE A desirable homologation BMW E30 M3 Motorsport in original condition. MODEL HISTORY The E30 M3 debuted at the 1985 Frankfurt motor show. Produced at the Milbertshofe factory in Munich with the drivetrain assembled by special teams and the chassis thoroughly reworked by BMW Motorsport in every significant area. The only reason for this iconic vehicles birth was to allow BMW to compete in Group A racing where a minimum of 5000 road going examples had to be built. These vehicles are therefore incredibly similar to the successful competition versions and just 5300 North American AK03 models were produced in total. (Source BMW M Registry). EQUIPMENT Limited-slip differential, MacPherson strut front axle with anti-dive and reinforced anti-roll bar, sports tuned suspension, dual ellipsoid headlamps, front air dam, rear air dam, plastic boot lid with rear wing, flared wheel arches, heated side mirrors, heated door locks, heated screen washer nozzles, M3 insignia in grille, black satin chrome finish, M Technic leather sports steering wheel, leather gear knob and gaiter, central locking, power front windows, electric sliding roof, map lights in the rear view mirror, glove box torch, BMW sports seats, contoured rear seats, toolbox in boot lid, oil temperature gauge, M Technic instrument cluster, service interval indicator, outside temperature display, check/control info centre, OBC, cruise control, air conditioning. EXTERIOR This unmolested example is finished in Alpine White II, (Code 218), and retains a bright uniform finish. Attractive from any angle the 12 unique body panels designed to reduce drag are largely free from damage. The Sheet Moulding Composite lightweight bootlid has some touched in marks and scratches and the paint has worn thin in some areas due to years of polishing. The flared wheel arches, large low-slung air dams and extra-wide side sills all help accentuate the dynamic looks. All the correct M3 insignia remains intact and the bumper-mounted side marker lights are still fitted but disconnected. A true icon. INTERIOR Finished in Natur Bison leather, (Code 0295), the M3 sport seats offer superb body support at all times and show deep veins front and rear. Arched around the driver, the accurate clear instruments, switches and levers are in just the right place and the unique instrument cluster with red needles, an M logo and an oil temperature gauge under the tachometer remind the driver how special this car is. The anthracite headlining and door cards are very clean and carpeting has been protected by genuine BMW carpet mats from new. The chassis tag remains in place on the undamaged dash and the electric windows and sunroof operate smoothly. The BMW glove box torch does not work and the leather wrapped steering wheel with the M tri-colour stripe on the centre spoke shows minor wear. A full BMW tool kit is present along with the optional petrol can in the spare wheel cavity. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION In the heart of this M3 is the compact and high-revving four-cylinder 16-valve S14 engine displacing 2.3 litres and developing 195 BHP at 6750 rpm. Lift up the bonnet and the engine bay greets you with a ‘BMW M Power’ inscription. Originality can be seen throughout with the yellow coloured factory wax and chassis stickers to both front wings still attached. A recent oil service using genuine BMW parts is catalogued and the compulsory E46 timing chain tensioner has been fitted. The timing chain was inspected in 2013 with photos in the history file. The original Getrag 265 five-speed manual gearbox has been rebuilt with a short shift upgrade. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES The original 15 inch Cross Spoke light alloy wheels have been refurbished and are shod in new branded 205/55 R15 tyres. A twin-circuit brake system with ABS and discs all round have just been overhauled and all parts replaced with genuine BMW items. HISTORY FILE This iconic late 1989 AK03 model year example originates from California where it only had two owners before being imported to the UK on the 1st December 2001. The original California plate 2YBZ265 remains with the car. With just two former keepers since entry, the last Mr Maude for 13 years, it has been cherished throughout. A feature in the July 2009 Classic Cars magazine reveals how Mr Maude acquired the vehicle and his enjoyment with it since 2003. This is also supplemented by a hand written historic account. All documentation including the original advert for the car, old MOT certificates and annual servicing records have been retained. Recent expenditure in October 2016 amounting to £1,205 includes a brake overhaul and a service using genuine BMW parts. All handbooks, spare keys and manuals are included along with interesting BMW E30 M3 articles collected over the years. Available due to the recent acquisition of a BMW 1M. MOT May 2017, HPI Clear. The original Mazda Service Record booklet houses eleven stamped entries, the first nine of which are the supplying Mazda dealer. The most recent stamped entry at Bridley Mazda of Stourbridge was carried out in June 2015. All handbooks, manuals and spare key are neatly contained in the grey leather Mazda wallet along with an immaculately kept folder containing invoices and every MOT carried out from three years old. Virtually impossible to find in such original, unmolested condition, this car is arguably the best remaining MK1 MX5. Sure to delight the collector, this essentially perfect example offers a real insight to the no frills pure driving experience beautifully encapsulated by Mazda and difficult to emulate. A retro Ford Capri 2.8 Injection Special with one owner and 48,919 miles. EQUIPMENT Remote control driver’s door mirror, body-coloured grille, lamp bezels body-coloured, power assisted steering, front and rear spoilers, tailgate wash/wipe, tinted glass all round, ammeter and oil pressure gauge, tachometer, quartz analogue clock, courtesy lights, perforated black headlining, front reclining Recaro seats, three-spoke leather covered steering wheel, tilting/sliding steel sunroof, boot light, instrument brightness control. EXTERIOR This exceptional one owner example is finished in Ford Black (code A9), a cost option when new. A deep mirror shine from the stunning paintwork is truly breath taking and the finish is uniform. Carefully touched in stone chips to the front and only minimal age related blemishes are visible upon close scrutiny. All factory fitted panels are straight with linear gaps and the exterior trim items and decals are pristine, commensurate with the low mileage credentials. Hard to source fitments such as the rubber spoiler and colour coded front grill are pleasingly immaculate, and the dealer supplied number plates remain fitted. An extraordinary example, exactly as Ford intended. INTERIOR The interior of this 2.8 Injection Special evokes a sense of true nostalgia with the supportive Recaro seats looking fantastic finished in the grey high-grade leather with ‘Strobe’ pattern fabric centre panels (code Q5). The driver’s outer bolster has rubbed and discoloured ever so slightly. The deep pile grey carpeting is spotless and the black perforated headlining unique to the 2.8 Special is tight. The leather covered steering wheel and gear knob are in beautiful order with natural veins prominent. All controls fully functioning are housed in an excellent dashboard with just one tiny crack. The factory fitted ESRT 32PS stereo cassette remains fitted and even factory build stickers have remained attached to the seat frames! Correct to Ford’s intention and remarkably well preserved. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The Capri 2.8 Injection was the first offering of the new Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) operation that had recently been set up in Dunton, Essex. SVE added a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system, an oil/water heat exchanger, viscous coupled fan and an improved radiator making the 158 BHP capable of 130mph and 0-60mph in 7.9 seconds. The fantastic engine bay is fastidiously detailed with factory plates, stickers and stamping clear to see. The engine is smooth and quiet whilst producing an unmistakable burble and a deep roar under enthusiastic use! The 5 speed gearbox is direct and progression through the range is effortless. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES This Capri is fitted with the factory 7-spoke alloy wheels in flawless condition and with correct Ford badged centre caps. Branded 205/60 R13 tyres have masses of tread remaining. The hydraulic dual-line servo-assisted brakes with ventilated front discs unique on the 2.8 Special stop the car quickly and in a straight line. HISTORY FILE Registered new on 10th September 1985 by Ford Main Dealers the Gates Group, Mr Phillip Hutson purchased the car new and has remained the only ever keeper since. The older style blue V5 registration document states no former keepers, and with just 48,919 miles from this is an incredibly special example. The history file contains many previous MOT certificates to track the mileage and verify authenticity. Furthermore, there are various receipts and invoices to document maintenance work, and the original Ford Capri Operating Guide and Motorists handbook are present. Maintenance work in Sept 2016 includes a service using genuine Motorcraft items, brake overhaul and replacement clutch. Representing a unique opportunity to acquire an iconic unmolested Capri 2.8 injection with amazing credentials and condition to match. One for the serious enthusiast. MOT October 2017, HPI Clear. Factory Options: front wheel disc brakes, heater and demister, tonneau cover, Radiomobile. EXTERIOR Finished in period Cactus Green, (Code 15), this preserved and unmolested example has a uniform shine which has aged remarkably well having always been garage stored and pampered with just a few owners. Panel fit and integrity is excellent and this original example shows correct production line features as manufactured by the Standard Motor Co Ltd. The chrome brightwork has minor pitting and all the correct badging remains undamaged. Some rubber trim is slightly split and a couple of tiny dings do not detract from the overall honesty and charm. All the glass is clear and the disappearing hood complete with optional tonneau cover and well cover is immaculate. A beautiful example. INTERIOR The separate front seats and divan rear seat are finished in matching Green Vynide which along with the door cards are in stunning condition. The green real pile carpeting is remarkably still factory fitment and deservedly shows some wear after 53 years of age. The walnut veneer facia and door capping offer Pullman style luxury along with the chrome plated door pulls. The chrome ‘Herald’ dash badge is still fitted along with a functioning Radiomobile. The boot area again reveals fabulous originality with the boot mat, plywood spare wheel cover and even the fuel tank reserve sticker intact. Charming in every respect. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION Simple and well proven, the 1147cc four cylinder engine with a chain driven camshaft and 3-bearing crankshaft produces a healthy 43bhp which enables a top speed of 78mph and 0-50 in 17.3 seconds. Amazingly quiet, smooth and responsive due to regular servicing this car offers fun yet practical classic car ownership. The original build plate in the engine compartment denotes the correct CV chassis number to confirm this is a factory built convertible. The 4-speed gearbox is light, precise and a joy to use but as supplied when new, no synchromesh on first! WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Stainless steel wheel trims are in excellent condition with branded 145/80 R13 tyres. The extra cost option of self-adjusting disc brakes to the front are fitted and standard drum brakes to the rear stop the car safely. HISTORY FILE A phenomenal history makes fascinating reading. Supplied new by Lambs Ltd, Standard-Triumph Dealers in Romford Essex on the 22nd October 1963. Incredibly this fine example has only had three former keepers, the first being Mrs Eldridge of Tode Hall for 24 years. Sold then to Mrs Aaron who remained the keeper for eight years before selling the car to Mr Gibson in 1995, proprietor of Roman Garage in Grantham. He kept the vehicle in his private collection before the final keeper, Mr Burrows, took ownership in 2008. Mr Gibson has continued to maintain the vehicle while in Mr Burrows care. Each owner has remained within 30 miles of each other! Every MOT since 1967 is included and fully warrants the low 39,166 miles covered. The original Triumph Service Voucher Booklet along with every manual is present. Masses of invoices confirm the attention lavished on this prime example which is now ready to impress its next caring owner. MOT October 2017, HPI Clear. Alternatively If you’d like to move your vehicle on quickly and efficiently with minimal delay then we can make an offer on an outright purchase basis with payment and collection arranged soon after. An exceptionally rare and genuine Triumph GTR4 Dove in show condition. EQUIPMENT Steel panelled body on cruciform chassis, forward hinged bonnet and doors, chrome bumpers, chrome headlamp surrounds, detachable laminated windscreen, safety glass, winding windows, enamelled dashboard, full minor instruments, glove locker. GTR4 Dove specification; one piece bespoke roof, rear top hinged hatch with internal release, opening rear quarters, 2+2 child seating configuration, folding rear seat, 18 gallon horizontally arranged fuel tank, L.F.Dove Ltd moniker on dash, GTR4 and Dove boot badges. Factory options; Overdrive, wire wheels. Accessories; Motolita steering wheel, map reading lamp. MODEL HISTORY The Triumph GTR4 Dove gained its existence and namesake from Triumph main dealer L.F.Dove & Company of Wimbledon who recognised the appeal of a practical long distance tourer based on the successful TR4 Roadster. L.F.Dove Ltd commissioned coachbuilder Thomas Harrington & Company to carry out the conversion to be sold exclusively through their dealership, and which upon seeing the quality of craftsmanship the model was officially recognised by Triumph. At an asking price of £1,093, it was a 30% premium over the standard car and equal to a Jaguar E-Type. It is suggested that this and the concern of diluting sales of the similar GT6 meant Triumph did not enter into mass production with the model, and just an estimated 50 vehicles are thought to have been converted. EXTERIOR The elegant lines of the Giovanni Michelotti design are instantly recognisable along with the addition of the one piece bespoke roof. Triumph heritage confirm that this beautiful example is finished in its original colour of Wedgewood Blue (code 26) which boasts a beautiful uniform finish and polished shine. Close scrutiny will reveal only very faint and localised areas where the paintwork is less than perfect, all utterly minor. All trim sections, glass, lights and badges show exemplary attention to detail and the chromework is pristine. With less than 20 GTR4 Dove’s known to remain, this is undoubtedly one of the best in existence. INTERIOR Incredibly original, the interior is simply wonderful. The seats still wear their factory Blue Vynide covering which is in remarkable condition aside from three miniscule nicks to the driver’s seat base. The factory original enamelled dashboard is in beautiful condition with the unique L.F. Dove Ltd moniker still affixed below the glove box. All switchgear is correct and operational and all gauges give healthy readings. A high quality replacement carpet set is exquisitely appointed to enhance the appeal. The clean boot area is carpeted in the matching pile and below the boot floor houses the spare wire wheel, jack and wheel brace. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION Mechanically identical to the standard TR4, the 2138cc four cylinder engine with factory optional overdrive and twin Stromberg 175CD set up produces 100bhp. A 0-60mph figure for the Dove quoted at 18.4 seconds is 0.6 seconds slower than standard owing to the added weight, however 0-100mph is actually 3 seconds quicker in the Dove, attributed to the improved aerodynamics. The high detail to the engine bay is ready for showing with factory plates, stampings and stickers visible. The four speed + overdrive transmission performs flawlessly. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES The optional 60 spoke chrome wire wheels are beautifully made and remain in amazing order. Matching quality Michelin XZX 165 SR15 tyres have plenty of tread remaining and the Girling hydraulic braking system offer predictable and safe braking. HISTORY FILE Registered new on the 2nd October 1963, this genuine GTR4 Dove number CT21794 is well known to the TR Register and file correspondence from the clubs TR4/4A Registrar, Jon Marshall, confirms its authenticity and original colour of Wedgewood Blue. The remarkable history folder is befitting of this very special car, with magazine and club publication features included. A Practical Classics feature from August 2001 covers the restoration carried out by previous owner, Andy Smith, who in 1998 restored the car from a near wreck to the incredible example we see today. The article makes fascinating reading and leaves no doubt over the fastidious nature of both owner and the project undertaken. Further correspondence from previous keepers will delight the next owner, including coverage of the cars time in Switzerland and subsequently Holland before thankfully returning to the UK and being given back its original registration number. Completing the history file is a large collection of specialist receipts and invoices to allow the next owner peace of mind and assurance. An exceptionally rare and equally important piece of Triumph TR history, and a wonderful interpretation of one of Coventry’s finest. MOT October 2017, Tax Exempt and HPI Clear. Dealer Special Build Programme; Minilite Sport alloys, RS wiper blade wind deflector. EXTERIOR Finished in brilliant Diamond White this genuine Mexico is outstanding. Impeccable detailing extending to the underside and engine bay will please the most critical of owners and onlookers. Vital components such as the rear stone deflector held in by eight bolts in the boot floor and strengthened AVO workmanship are laid bare for all to see. The chrome, glass, and badges are in immaculate order with much of the glass still number plate etched. Tiny splits exist to the rear glass rubber. A chip on one side decal and a few historic micro blisters to the passenger rear wheel arch, boot corner tip and front drivers sill are barely visible. These markings have been constantly present during the current 14 year ownership and never prevented the car finishing in the top ten since 2004 at the prestigious Ford AVO National Days. A second place at the 2013 event being a true testament to the meticulous condition. INTERIOR True and exact in every respect to a Ford Mexico Custom Pack interior with hidden attention to detail beyond belief. Removing the pristine door cards will reveal components carefully removed, refurbished and painted. This theme is painstakingly continued throughout. The rare Kienzle clock housed within an uncut RS centre console joins all the other fully operational sports instrumentation providing at a glance concise information. The brushed nylon RS sports seats with optional headrests and button RS logos match a spotless loop pile carpet throughout. Only the varnished wood trim panel to the dash facia shows slight fade in an otherwise perfect interior. The boot area continues the showroom experience with unused tools complete with stickers neatly wrapped in the hessian bag resting on an impossible to source genuine unmarked boot mat. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION Prepare for gasps of amazement as onlookers marvel under the bonnet of this Escort Mexico. The GT crossflow unit with the 711M block has been worked on by renown Vulcan Engineering with the aim of originality in their costly 110 Spec upgrade including conversion of the cylinder head to run on unleaded. Photos of the stripped engine are in the history file. Near impossible to source and correct components grace this engine from the obvious Fomoco radiator to the inconspicuous dipstick bracket. Expect performance of the 1660cc engine to easily match the quoted 85bhp with 0 to 60mph in 10.7 seconds and a top speed over 100mph. The 4-speed synchromesh gearbox was fully rebuilt in November 2006 by BGH Geartech Ltd with an aluminium bell housing and AP heavy duty clutch proving perfect changes every time . WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Correctly dated and optional Minilite Sport Alloys, as available through the Ford Dealer Special Build Programme, are pristine and shod in matching Goodyear Eagle Ventura 185/60R tyres. The correct pressed steel spare is strapped and angled in the boot with the same tyre. The vacuum servo-assistance brakes run on the standard single line braking system with M16 front calipers on solid discs and Lockheed 9” rear brakes. HISTORY FILE Built at Fords Advanced Vehicle Operations factory in Aveley in July 1973 this vehicle has only had six owners from new. The third owner, Mr Farris joined the AVO club in 1979 and this rare car became the 50th Mexico to be added to the register. A beautiful catalogue of history accompanies the vehicle with detailed photographs taken each time any work has been carried out. This encompasses a 14 week engine rebuild in 1983 as featured in HAVOC, (The AVO Owners Club publication) to a bare metal respray in 2002, to a recent CD file revealing intricate detailing work such as the removal and refurbishment of the fuel tank amongst other things. An extensive collection of invoices, MOT certificates and home produced technical specification sheets are included. The original owner literature including the Escort Mexico Owner’s Handbook encased in the A5 Ford Sure wallet remains with the spare keys. A previous owner has requested, after making the difficult decision to part with the car, that all trophies, medals, plaques and crystal awards remain with him as a memento of his tremendous efforts. Photos of all the awards are provided. Last sold by KGF Classic Cars in 2013 we are delighted to offer this vehicle again to the next discerning collector and blue oval enthusiast. Mr Francis Medlam has remained the registered keeper from new and returned to the supplying dealer for servicing eight times until the vehicle had covered 18,331 miles. A subsequent seven service entries at a specialist along with previous MOT certificates warrant the low mileage of 24,790 and reveal the fastidious care bestowed upon this example. A fanatical low mileage car collector and vehicle historian, Mr Preston, took ownership in 2011 and immediately set about perfecting a what would be, a perfect car to most, to meet his exacting standards. Nostalgic seekers will enjoy old tax discs being retained and sight of the first service coupon. The original factory fitted soft top made by Tickford is pristine and the rear screen perfectly clear. The rear tonneau is present. The famous octagonal MG badging is unmarked and all chrome brightwork has a mirror finish. A born classic. INTERIOR Lavishly trimmed in fine Connolly Stone Beige leather, (Code SMJ), with a ruched pattern and rich in Elm Burr veneer adorning the facia panel, centre console and door cappings the interior is pure luxury. A fine expression of MG traditional sporting appeal can be seen with a full set of VDO black-on-white working instruments and chrome interior door handles, roll top lid ashtray and handbrake release button. The original MG velour mats have protected the dark Stone Beige cut pile carpets and even the correct leather gear knob remains fitted often replaced with wooden items due premature wear. The correct Panasonic radio cassette player with the MG logo remains fitted. Beautifully traditional. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The 3.9 litre V8 is extremely flexible with large reserves of torque and 190bhp giving effortless midrange overtaking. 0-60mph is despatched in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 135mph is quoted. The engine bay is spotlessly clean and factory original with all markings, plates and stickers present. The V8 burble through the twin exhaust pipe is intoxicating. The robust Land Rover built 77mm 5-speed gearbox changes with reassuring precision and a progressive light clutch action. Delightful. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Distinctive cast alloy 15x6J road wheels are unmarked and still retain the MG centre security caps. The Zender split rim bolts have no corrosion. Matching Pirelli P6000 205/65 R15 tyres have ample tread. Servo assisted ventilated front disc brakes with 4-piston callipers and rear drums do an impressive job of bringing the vehicle to a safe halt. HISTORY FILE The MG RV8 was always destined to become a classic with just 1983 units made reviving a golden history and celebrating thirty years after the birth of the legendary MGB. This pampered example spent six years with the only Japanese owner, Mr Akifumi Shimizu of Wakayama who purchased the car on the 21st September 1994. Upon the first sha-ken, (MOT), in 1997 the car had covered 4,448km and in December 1999 the car was purchased for export to the UK with 11,800km. At this point a brand new VDO in mph was installed and professionally fitted retaining the old unit for authenticity. Since arriving in the UK a further documented 7,785 miles have been covered with three former keepers and MG enthusiasts. A comprehensive collection of paperwork, old MOT certificates and point of sale material make fascinating reading. The previous keeper part exchanged this cherished vehicle with KGF Classic Cars in April 2014 whereupon the garage owners Father, Mr Fasulo, fell for the charm, immaculate condition and V8 burble and just had to have it! Now only available to make room for a classic Ferrari. MOT Oct 2017, HPI Clear.
