FOR SALE A Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000 pre Custom in immaculate low owner condition. EQUIPMENT Polyurethane front end incorporating four Cibie quartz halogen headlamps, front air dam, rubberised tail spoiler, twin bodyside coachline, RS2000 decals, black door mirrors, laminated windscreen, hazard warning flashers, heated rear window, separate fuel, water temperature and oil pressure gauges, padded sun visors, two-speed heater, aeroflow ventilation with eye ball vents, centre console, glovebox, quartz clock, full trimmed door cards, cut pile carpeting, vanity mirror. EXTERIOR The exterior of this RS2000 is finished in alluring Venetian Red, (Code R), which boasts a stunning shine and uniform finish. The polyurethane droop snoot is straight and perfectly colour matched housing a set of four crystal clear Cibie 60/55W quartz-halogen headlamps. Genuine Altissimo rear light clusters are fitted and all trim sections, RS decals and badges remain intact and are in excellent order. The vehicle still has the correct colour coded fuel filler cap, dealer metal number plates and date correct plain Sekurit glass fitted as standard to early cars. The clean underside reveals the pampered low owner credentials and will please the next blue oval enthusiast wanting to enjoy and show. INTERIOR Being an early pre Custom and pre Base model this example is fitted with the desirable Scheel reclining seats with roll-top headrests. Incredibly these high-back seats with shapely side bolsters are still trimmed in the original black Beta cloth and retain all support and are in excellent condition. Indeed, still within the seat covers is the brown cardboard tag detailing the manufacturing date often only found on low mileage examples. Matching black cut pile carpets and fully trimmed door panels are in excellent condition and the padded dash top housing fully functional gauges is undamaged. Connoisseurs will note the early 120mph speedo with white needles and working Smiths Quartz clock with dark orange hands. The heater fan works on both settings and the Ford radio is operational. The clean boot area shows some marks to the cardboard seatback and houses a Ford jack in the hessian bag along with a wheel brace. A truly spectacular RS interior. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The original matching numbers 1993cc SOHC engine remains fitted to this vehicle with standard features such as the Ford plastic air box cover and twin-choke Weber 32DGAV carburettor. The engine bay is spotless with original factory metal data plates and the black plastic bulkhead cover all still present. Performance figures of 108.2mph top speed and 0-60 in just 8.5 seconds are more than respectable, even for modern standards. The Type E standard four-speed gearbox snaps into gear perfectly. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Genuine Ford RS Ronal alloy road wheels have been refurbished with matching quality Pirelli 175/70 R13 tyres showing plenty of tread. The spare alloy wheel is housed in the boot area. Vacuum servo assisted front disc brakes with rear drums brakes offer fair braking but fall short of modern standards. HISTORY FILE Built on the Saarlouis production line in May 1977 and first registered on 1st August 1977 by Ford Rallye Sport Dealer, Frank G. Gates Ltd this beautiful example has only had three former keepers from new. Produced prior to the Custom and Base model these early cars possess key differences sought-after by collectors and very difficult to find. The history file contains the original delivery/collection note when the car was supplied to the first owner Mr D Blatch who opted for the Dinitrol 6 year guarantee treatment. Cherished by him until his passing when his brother Mr Bernard Blatch took ownership. Bernard had the car fully serviced and checked in February 1999 when it had covered 44,760 miles as it had been unused for a few years prior to his brothers passing and subsequently put the car in storage. Then sold in 2003 to Mr Swain a Ford enthusiast who sympathetically restored the car enjoying it for the next 14 years until the current owner Mr Warner purchased the car. Mr Warner has decided to part with the car due to the acquisition of an even lower mileage Black RS2000. A collection of invoices, old MOT certificates, tax discs and spare keys are included. This is a very special, highly collectable Rallye Sport for the Ford fanatic. MOT Oct 2019, HPI Clear. EQUIPMENT Remote control driver’s door mirror, body-coloured grille, lamp bezels body-coloured, power assisted steering, front and rear spoilers, tailgate wash/wipe, tinted glass all round, ammeter and oil pressure gauge, tachometer, quartz analogue clock, courtesy lights, perforated black headlining, front reclining Recaro seats, three-spoke leather covered steering wheel, tilting/sliding steel sunroof, boot light, instrument brightness control. EXTERIOR The iconic Capri 2.8 Injection Special needs little introduction and this example is one of the last cars produced. Finished in desirable Ford Diamond White, (Code B3), the paintwork boasts a bright finish and polished shine with all decals fully intact and correct. Carefully touched in stone chips to the front and only minimal age-related imperfections are visible upon close scrutiny, not to spoil the overall impressive appearance. The factory fitted panels are straight with linear gaps and the exterior trim items and bumpers are excellent. All glass is security etched with the registration mark along with the lenses which are the original Hella and Ford fitment with ‘Made in England’ lettering. Thankfully the underside is free from excess applied underseal to allow easy inspection of the structural integrity. A 1980’s performance legend, exactly as Ford intended. INTERIOR The interior of this 2.8 Injection Special evokes a sense of true nostalgia with the supportive Recaro seats looking fantastic finished in the grey high-grade leather with ‘Strobe’ pattern fabric centre panels (code Q5). The driver’s outer bolster is fully intact and firm showing only very light wear. The deep pile grey carpeting is clean and the black perforated headlining unique to the 2.8 Special is tight. The leather covered steering wheel and gear knob are undamaged and all controls fully functioning. There are two small cracks in the dashboard. The factory fitted ESRT 32PS stereo cassette remains fitted and fully functional. This car has remained in the hands of Capri enthusiasts and has thankfully avoided the 80’s and 90’s modification trend. Superb. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The Capri 2.8 Injection was the first offering of the new Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) operation that had recently been set up in Dunton, Essex. SVE added a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system, an oil/water heat exchanger, viscous coupled fan and an improved radiator making the 158 BHP capable of 130mph and 0-60mph in 7.9 seconds. The engine bay is very clean with factory plates, stickers and inner wing stamping clear to see. The engine is smooth and quiet whilst producing an unmistakable burble and a deep roar under enthusiastic use! The 5 speed gearbox is direct and progression through the range is effortless. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES This Capri is fitted with the factory original 7-spoke RS style alloy wheels in flawless condition and with Ford badged centre caps. Quality branded Firestone Firehawk 205/60 R13 tyres are fitted all round and have masses of tread remaining. The spare wheel is the factory Good year item. The hydraulic dual-line servo-assisted brakes with ventilated front discs unique on the 2.8 Special stop the car quickly and in a straight line. HISTORY FILE Built at the Cologne plant in November 1986, one month before Capri production ended, this 2.8 Injection Special was registered new on 21st January 1987 by Ford Main Dealers Bussey and Sabberton Bros Ltd or Norwich. The previous owner, Mrs Tracey Sparks, purchased the car in May 1996 and has owned the car for over 22 years. The history file is simply colossal with the huge file presented neatly in chronological order and dating back to the 1980’s. Perusal of the history file would takes hours and there is also every MOT certificate carried out since the first in 1990. The original book packs, Capri operating guides, and point of sale literature are present along with two sets of keys. The car has also been known to the Capri Club International since the early 1990’s and there is even an exclusive set of their mud flaps fitted! To drive this example following inspection of both machine and history file, you are left in no doubt that this Capri has been maintained regardless of cost and dearly cherished. The next owner will benefit from this greatly and find themselves the proud owner of a useable yet show worthy example. MOT October 2019, HPI Clear. Factory fitted Goodyear Eagle Touring tyres of size 185/55 R15 tyres up front and 205/50 R15 at the rear will please originality seekers, and while tread and rubber condition are good it would be a wise safety precaution to renew if the car is to be used. Ventilated front discs and solid rear discs offer positive straight-line stopping power. HISTORY FILE Registered new by MG Rover Main Agent, Foxfield Rover of Wigan, on the 11th January 1996 following initial model launch the previous Autumn. After one year of ownership, Mrs and Mrs Reeman were invited by MG Rover to the MGF 2nd Anniversary celebration at Silverstone, where upon arrival all cars were organised by colour in separate sections, and owners were presented with a limited edition boxed Old Specked Hen fine ale, MG card holder and MG car cover, all of which have incredibly been kept including the ale which has not been consumed! The history file includes the original full book pack with service book, handbooks, guides and dealership literature as well as previous MOT certificates and invoices as well as three sets of keys with dealer fob. The paint boasts a deep lustrous shine and incredibly, the lightweight factory panels and trim sections are undamaged, (the unladen weight is only 935kg!). There is a very small rub to each door mirror edge and light distortion to the nearside rear lower plastic trim, utterly insignificant. Supplying Citroen main dealer number plates and Citroen rear screen sticker remain fitted. An unmolested marvel and near impossible to find in factory standard specification. INTERIOR A wonderful testament to the care bestowed on this cherished car is the perfect condition of the fragile interior. The original Delta cloth upholstery only fitted to the VTR model is totally unmarked along with the pristine door inserts. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES The factory fitted 14” Toulouse alloy wheels remain in excellent condition with five Michelin 195/45 R15 tyres. The servo assisted brakes with discs all round provide safe assured stopping power. HISTORY FILE Production of the Citroen Saxo came to an end in 2003 with the final run of cars being the VTR/VTS models, the last of which rolled off the production line in September 2003. This very late example was registered on 24th October 2003 by Citroen Main Dealer John Wilding Ltd of Morecambe. The first and only owner, Mrs Rena Eastwood, was in her sixties when she purchased the car brand new, citing that she wanted something fun and fast! After covering just 29,751 miles from new and owning the car for almost 15 years, Mrs Eastwood is now in her eighties and sadly ill health has brought about the difficult decision to sell her pride and joy. Mrs Eastwood, a fascinating lady, is able to reel off important information about the car’s history with amazing detail, and it was her strict insistence that the car was always garaged, to the detriment of her husbands Mercedes which remained outside! The condition, driving manner and history is a huge credit to her love and dedication for her VTR, and it is her wish that the car remains to be enjoyed exactly as it is now. The history file includes the full Citroen document wallet containing all handbooks, guides and point of sale literature as well as the service book with 10 stamps and original purchase invoice. The last service entry was in October 2017 and there is a documented cambelt change. Absolutely every MOT certificate from the first 2006 has been kept to fully verify the mileage of 29,751 miles. A large file of invoices completes the history file along with both sets of keys and the key code tag. Representing a very rare example of an often modified and abused hot hatch, this amazing and hugely entertaining Saxo VTR is without doubt one of the best in existence. MOT October 2019, HPI Clear. At four weeks old the first private keeper, Miss Sarah Barlow, purchased the car having previously owned an early MGF. A Clarks Rover sales invoice confirms the purchase price of £14,583.25 less £6,500 part exchange for her 1997 MGF. After just seven months of ownership, Miss Barlow found her dream first home and persuaded her father, James Barlow, to purchase the car from her in order to have a deposit to put down! Mr Barlow owned the car until 2017 when it was purchased by KGF Classic Cars. Sold 12 months ago to our customer, Mr Roger Swift, KGF Classic Cars are delighted to have the opportunity to buy the car back after Mr Swift decided to buy a classic Jaguar. The history file contains the original leather MG wallet with service and handbook, and all MOT certificates. Two keys with MG fobs and key code tag complete the fantastic history file. A pristine MG TF, wanting for nothing and ready for summer fun! MOT September 2019, HPI Clear. Purchased in September 2007 by Kevin Smith from long term owner Mr William Sommerfield, the previous owner since 1985! Mr Smith searched relentlessly for an original Austin Princess and was delighted to have acquired this example seemingly needing very little work to be a show car. Unfortunately the reality was very different and although completely original, expert restorers quoted an eye watering amount spanning six pages, to make the car a show piece. Mr Smith, exhausted with searching agreed to all works and the end result is stunning. On receiving the car back it was quickly booked into some shows and on its first two outings broke down each time. Mr Smith’s wife vowed never to set foot in the car again and not wishing to embark on weekends away alone, the car remained in the garage unused until acquired by KGF Classic Cars. Now recommissioned and ready for its next adventure this iconic British Leyland Wedge is ready for an appreciative new owner. MOT September 2019, HPI clear. HISTORY FILE The current owner and creator of this delightful Mini Cooper Recreation is Roy Parmenter. An absolute motoring fanatic and at the age of 76 years has even published a book featuring all the cars he has owned. With cars such as an Aston Martin DB5, Carrera Panamerica Porsche 356 and ’36 Le Mans MG PB it is great to see this latest personal indulgence featured. Registered new on the 21st October 1982 as a humble Mini City, Roy purchased the car from Richard Williams of Devon for a large sum of money due to its fantastic structural and low mileage credentials. Bizarrely after paying such a large sum of money the intention was to always build a vanity project, namely a Austin Mini Cooper Recreation. This was done over a two year period to a fantastic build specification and thorough knowledge thanks to Roy having owned a number of original Mini Coopers over the years! A file of invoices, costings and a personal written account with leave no doubt in the next owners mind how meticulous Roy is. With the original 1960’s Austin Mini Cooper Mk1 an icon of the British motoring history and as such fine examples can command figures in excess of £40k and the ‘S’ equivalent far more, this recreation is a combination of improved engineering expertise with 60’s elements that represents a rare opportunity to acquire a truly remarkable one off. FOR SALE A desirable Big Turbo Ford Escort RS Cosworth Luxury with 48,429 miles. MODEL HISTORY The Ford Escort RS Cosworth was a sports derivative and rally homologation special of the fifth generation Ford Escort. It was designed to qualify as a Group A car for the World Rally Championship. It was available as a road car from 1992-96 in limited numbers from Ford’s Specialist Vehicle Engineering, (SVE), team. It combines the hand-assembled engine expertise of Cosworth and the coach-building crafts of Karmann. In order to accommodate the larger Cosworth engine and transmission Ford developed the car around the chassis and mechanicals of its predecessor, the Sierra Cosworth. A very rare car with only 7,145 examples being produced and this one of the desirable early 2,500 built for homologation. (Source Wikipedia, 1995 Edition One RS Brochure and the RS Owners Club). EQUIPMENT Body colour front bumper with black lower splitter, louvred bonnet air intakes, wing air extraction grilles, aerodynamic rear wing with lower boot spoiler, electro-luminescent instrument cluster, oil pressure gauge, turbo gauge, voltmeter, quartz digital clock with ambient temperature, delayed courtesy light, map reading lights, glove box illumination. Factory Options: Luxury Pack comprising of; Opening rear quarter windows, electrically operated and heated door mirrors, ‘Quickclear’ heated windscreen, heated washer jets, three-spoke leather covered steering wheel, central double locking, tailgate release, lights on warning, rear centre armrest, rear head restraints, sunroof, electric windows. EXTERIOR The striking exterior of this Escort RS Cosworth is nothing short of remarkable. Finished in iconic Diamond White, (Code B2), the paintwork boasts a brilliant shine and uniform colour match between panels. Early homologation clues such as the exposed petrol cap and larger door mirrors remain fitted. All exterior trim is in excellent order including the factory original light units. The chrome on the rear tailgate badges has worn thin on the corners and rubbers are in good condition. The black lower splitter is undamaged and the underside is very clean with a coating of Waxoyl. A rare sporting Ford. INTERIOR With a majority of components being built specifically for the RS Cosworth this is a privileged place to be. The Recaro seats are finished in optional perforated Raven leather and are in very good condition commensurate with the low mileage covered. The cut-pile carpets have been protected by genuine Ford rubber mats. The comprehensive and sophisticated instrumentation has beautiful dials with black detail on a white background. A boost control switch, immobiliser and Collins turbo gauge are fitted. The Ford FD 2007 radio cassette is the correct unit but the CD unit is an earlier Ford item and a led has been removed. Being one of the first 2,500 cars the pristine boot area still has the water injection kit never plumbed in and unused to comply with homologation. Most were removed by the Ford dealer to avoid customer confusion but fortunately this has remained with the car. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The Cosworth YBT Big Turbo engine warrants little introduction and the early Escort Cosworths with the Weber-Marelli engine management, T3/T04B turbocharger and visible blue cam cover are very sought after. Visual modifications courtesy of Brooklyn Motorsport Spec-R alloy items are fitted along with a K&N cone filter. Other modifications include uprated fuel pump, cooling system swirl pop and light blue injectors. The exhaust note through the stainless steel system is glorious. The standard 227bhp engine enabling a top speed of 140mph and 0-60mph in 5.9secs can be expected. The permanent Ferguson four wheel drive system with 34/66% front/rear power split mated to a MT 75 5-speed gearbox with a Helix Organic uprated clutch provides precise reassuring changes. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Pristine 8 X 18” Rondell alloy wheels are shod in premium branded tyres with masses of tread remaining. Ahmed Bayjoo spec springs on standard shock absorbers provide excellent handling characteristics and drilled ventilated front and rear discs with braided hoses offer confident stopping power. HISTORY FILE Built at the Rheine Assembly Plant in Germany in September 1992 and registered new on the 7th October 1992 by the Ford Motor Co themselves making this model one of the highly sought after and early 2,500 Big Turbo homologation specials. A further five former keepers have cherished this example, one of which was Mario Caira, a respected Cosworth racing driver who had this car as his own personal vehicle. The current custodian, Mr Fitzpatrick, has known the car for 18 years and was fortunate to purchase it in 2004 from a friends mother when the car had a four digit personalised registration number. This car was her pride and joy with the daily car being a Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth! Mr Fitzpatrick used the car sparingly and has created a personal memoir of his ownership which includes the vehicle being used at Road Shows to educate school children on road safety and photographs of the car when it was in storage in a Carcoon. A full service and cambelt change has just been carried out by Harvey Gibbs at Supreme Car Services in July 2018 at 48,413 miles. All book packs are present including the original service book, old MOT certificates and two sets of keys. MOT September 2019, HPI Clear. The factory paintwork gleams with a deep lustrous shine and beautiful uniform polished finish, and all factory panels are straight and undamaged. Even very close scrutineers will struggle to detect anything other than minuscule markings and a few carefully touched in stone chips. The previous owner since 2005 has preserved the underside components with a careful and light application of Dinitrol treatment. The electro-hydraulic Vario roof is seamless in operation and the optional wind deflector remains with the car. Originality seekers will be pleased to see the Mercedes dealer number plates. Not to be confused with the usual offerings, this pampered SLK is without question amongst the best examples. INTERIOR This well appointed two seat roadster features factory optional leather upholstery in Anthracite, (Code 221), which is spotlessly clean and free from wear with firm bolsters. The fastidious owner routinely fed the leather ensuring it has remained supple and only tiny hairline creases can be seen on the outer driver’s seat bolsters. All trim sections are immaculate other than some minor lifting to the drivers sill kick plate and the controls and functions operate seamlessly including the Speedtronic cruise control/limiter and ice-cold air conditioning. Even factory codes remain stamped on the boot floor of this superbly original example. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The supercharged four-cylinder engine displaces 2295cc to develop 193hp at 5300rpm and 280Nm torque output. Impressive performance credentials are quoted in the marketing literature at 0-62 in 7.5 seconds with a top speed of 142mph, and regular documented servicing has ensured this machine performs at optimum level. The engine bay is pristine and proudly displays the bright red ‘Kompressor’ rocker cover infill as well as factory stickers, bulkhead chassis stamp and slam panel stamping. The standard electronically controlled 5-speed automatic transmission operates precisely as it should with positive kickdown and both manual control and winter/sport modes. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Factory upgrade 17” AMG alloy wheels are in outstanding order with no scuffs, and matching Michelin Pilot Sport tyres were renewed in 2016 and have masses of tread remaining. The anti-lock braking system offers absolute stopping power to install complete peace of mind. HISTORY FILE Registered new on the 15th June 1999, the first owner was a Rosamund Marshall who ordered the car through Mercedes-Benz UK and opted for the factory collection in Germany which was offered at the time. Mrs Marshall enjoyed the car for six years until 2005 when it was purchased by Paul Wilson who has owned it ever since. The very low mileage of 59,010 miles is fully verified in both the service records and all MOT certificates held dating back to 2004. The most recent service was carried out in November 2017 and the previous owner has noted the fully synthetic fluid changes with correct brand and viscosity. The Mercedes document wallet holds the service book with factory build card as well as all handbooks, guides and dealership literature including the post-it note pad! A further large folder contains the original Mercedes factory consignment records as well as Mercedes main dealer and specialist service invoices. Two sets of keys plus the remote-control master key card remain with the car and there is an original sales brochure too. Early, low mileage and cossetted SLK’s are fast becoming hard to find and this exceptional example has optimum credentials and condition to match. MOT June 2019, HPI Clear. A mind-blowing Ford Capri 2.8 Injection Special with a remarkable 8,334 miles. EQUIPMENT Remote control driver’s door mirror, body-coloured grille, lamp bezels body-coloured, power assisted steering, front and rear spoilers, tailgate wash/wipe, tinted glass all round, ammeter and oil pressure gauge, tachometer, quartz analogue clock, courtesy lights, perforated black headlining, front reclining Recaro seats, three-spoke leather covered steering wheel, tilting/sliding steel sunroof, boot light, instrument brightness control. Factory options; Black paintwork. Dealer options: Mudflaps, Ford floor mats, Toad A1606 Alarm. EXTERIOR This outstanding unrestored Ford Capri 2.8 Injection is one of the final cars made, and having covered a genuine 8,334 miles from new, this is without question an exceptionally special car. A cost option when new, the factory original paintwork in Ford Black, (Code A9), boasts a near flawless finish and deep mirror shine. The front displays a few small stone chips and touched in markings, entirely minimal and forgiven for such an original example. To further delight the connoisseur is the supplying Ford Main Dealer, Cuff Miller, number plates, mud flaps and tax disc holder all remaining fitted. All trim sections and decals are preserved with no damage from exposure to elements, and all light lenses are original Hella fitment with Ford and ‘Made in England, lettering. A super low mileage and beautifully preserved Capri, the jewel in any Ford collection. INTERIOR An interior that must be seen to be believed and perhaps the most special part of the car. Entirely commensurate with the 8,334 miles covered, the interior condition is impossible to replicate and even extends to retention of the original Ford smell! The supportive Recaro seats in grey high-grade leather with ‘Strobe’ pattern fabric centre panels, (Code Q5), are spotlessly clean with firm seat structure. The driver’s seat upper bolster has some very light furring to the stitching as well as the near impossible to find removable back rest pads in matching ‘Strobe’ pattern. The door cards, headlining and trim sections are as new and the deep pile grey carpeting is pristine having been protected from new by Ford tailored floor mats. The leather covered steering wheel and gear knob are perfect with natural veins prominent, a trait of such low mileage. The factory fresh dashboard has no cracks whatsoever and all switchgear and controls are as new with bright white lettering. The factory fitted ESRT 32PS stereo cassette and electric aerial are fully operational. Originality seekers with delight further at service stickers in the door shuts and unspoilt pin-straight parcel shelf, as well as factory build stickers and foam insulation pads preserved in the boot floor. The term time warp is entirely suitable in this instance. The fantastic engine bay is fastidiously standard with Motorcraft service items, factory plates and stickers and Ford wing stampings clear to see. A quality GES Ltd stainless steel exhaust with lifetime guarantee was fitted in 2014. The 5 speed gearbox is direct and progression through the range is effortless. This Capri is as close to a new car driving experience as you will experience. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES The factory 7-spoke alloy wheels are unrestored with correct Ford badged centre caps and factory weights. Light aging is evident along with some discolouration to the caps. A collectable and highly prized full set of five Goodyear Eagle NCT 60 tyres have remained on the car since new with the spare wheel completely virgin with coloured banding to the tyres! The hydraulic dual-line servo-assisted brakes with ventilated front discs unique on the 2.8 Special stop the car quickly and in a straight line. HISTORY FILE The very last Ford Capri was built in December 1986. Built in November 1986 at the Cologne Plant in Germany, this very late 2.8 Injection Special was registered new on 28th February 1987. The supplying Ford Main Dealer was Cuff Miller & Co Ltd of Littlehampton, Sussex. Clearly keen on brand exposure, the Cuff Miller branding can be found of the mud flaps, tax disc holder, number plates and document wallet as well as of course their supplying dealer stamp in the original service book! Just three owners from new are fully traceable and the first issue blue V5 has been kept. A wonderful part of the history file is the two factory build and specification sheets. The document wallet holds all handbooks, operating guides, radio instructions and dealership literature as well as the Salesman’s business card. Furthermore, the history file holds previous MOT certificates, a service invoice for May 2017 with just 30 miles covered since and two sets of keys. A unique opportunity to acquire an iconic unmolested Capri 2.8 injection with amazing credentials and condition to match. One for the serious collector. MOT July 2019, HPI Clear. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION Entirely standard and despite the low mileage the car has benefited from regular Lotus main dealer and specialist servicing, with 12 stamped entries in the service book the most recent by main dealer, Leven Lotus of Edinburgh, in June 2018 at 4,714 miles. The four cylinder in line 16 valve engine with aluminium engine block and cylinder head displaces 1796cc to produce 118bhp at 5500rpm and 165Nm torque at 3000rpm. Lightweight construction, rear wheel drive and mid-mounted engine, this ticks the core race car credentials and the driving experience is a must for any petrolhead. The clean engine bay and front compartment display a fully intact heat insulation panel, factory identification sticker, PDI markings and labels. The 5-speed close ratio gearbox with short throw is precise and direct. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Unique to Lotus are the 5 twin spoke light alloy wheels which are unmarked except for a light chip to one rear wheel. The Lotus centre badges are pristine and those with a keen eye for originality will note the collector pleasing factory fitted Pirelli PZero tyres still showing excellent tread. Cast iron 282mm ventilated discs with unique Lotus/AP Racing opposed piston front calipers stop the car safely and quickly. HISTORY FILE A car with an interesting and heart-warming history! The first and only owner, Mr Pier Sinforiani, paid the impressive sum of £0.00 for the car having won first prize in a Daily Record newspaper competition in 1998. Supplied direct from Lotus Cars Ltd Service Department, the car was registered new on 3rd March 1998 and the original vehicle checklist and despatch record and somewhat irrelevant (in this instance) price list is held in the history file! Mr Sinforiani’s amazing fortunate luck came at a wonderful moment just as he retired, ready for him to enjoy the car socially in dry conditions only. The car was strictly garaged at all times and now well into his 80’s, the decision to part with his prized Lotus has been carefully decided. Despite the very low mileage of just 4,757 miles, there are 12 stamped entries in the service booklet with the most recent by main dealer, Leven Lotus of Edinburgh, in June 2018 at 4,714 miles. The corresponding Leven Lotus service is held in the history file along with previous MOT certificates and other invoices. A documented and stamped timing belt change has been carried out at 4,514 miles and is within time. The Elise document wallet holds all handbooks, factory alarm installation certificate and point of sale literature as well as the important factory build sticker and an unused tax disc holder. Completing the history file is an original sales brochure and both keys supplied with the car when new. One owner and exceptionally low mileage, this Elise is for the demanding connoisseur seeking one of Hethel’s finest, both in condition and credentials. MOT August 2019, HPI Clear. Alternatively If you’d like to move your vehicle on quickly and efficiently with minimal delay then we can make an offer on an outright purchase basis with payment and collection arranged soon after. A rare surviving Austin Metro Automatic with an incredible 16,464 miles from new. EQUIPMENT All steel unitary construction, laminated windscreen, twin door mirrors, locking concealed fuel filler, grey moulded bumpers, side rubbing strip, styled halogen headlamps, twin rear fog lamps, loadspace lamp, front head restraints, rear parcel shelf, header rail console with digital clock, floor mounted centre console, heated rear window, variable-delay intermittent wipers, rear wash/wipe, cigar lighter, push-button pre-selector LW/MW radio. Dealer options; Rear mudflaps. EXTERIOR Finished in factory original colour Champagne Beige, (Code LMK), this fantastic and rare edition Metro Automatic has covered a remarkable 16,464 miles from new and is preserved in superb condition. The paintwork boasts a wonderful polished shine and uniform finish, and all panels are straight and damage free. With many Metro’s having succumbed to the harshness of daily use and the elements in the 1980’s, it is a true delight to see original features such as factory spot welds to the rear arches as well as supplying Austin-Rover dealer fitted number plates, rear screen sticker and tax disc holder. Only very close scrutiny will reveal light markings and touched in scratches, utterly insignificant and barely worthy of mention. The front and rear light clusters and even both side repeaters and rear fog lamps are factory fitment with the Austin logo to the lenses. Once a common sight on our roads, this fantastic example really does stir up nostalgia. INTERIOR The Metro Automatic was factory built to the same specification as the HLE model and as such featured higher levels of equipment to include, variable-delay intermittent wipers, header rail console with digital clock and Plain and Moonstripe Tweed trim with padded front head restraints. A testament to the incredible low mileage, the seats in the Flint colour scheme, (Code CNC), remain in pristine condition with no damage or wear whatsoever. All interior trim is as new and could almost convince you that you are in a 1985 Austin Rover showroom! Low mileage indicators include prominent veins to the steering wheel and factory fresh controls and switchgear. The push-button pre-selector LW/MW radio works perfectly but digital clock is not functioning. Reminiscent of a far simpler motoring era, this highly collectable Metro is truly delightful. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The legendary and time proven A-Series engine of 1275cc displacement needs no introduction. Producing an ample 62bhp, this sedate Metro offers a relaxed driving experience with a top speed of 92mph and 0-60 in 15.5 seconds. The engine bay is spotlessly clean and factory plates, stickers, panel stampings, and protective wax visible. Factory fitted with an oil cooler as standard on the Automatic model, the four-speed automatic transmission with manual overide facility operates exactly as it should. Even the special, directional light filter which prevents the illuminated gear selector markings from reflecting in the windscreen at night remains effectual and fully functional. Ideal for the classic show circuit and every day retro motoring! WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Factory standard pressed steel TD wheels remain fitted and are shod in premium brand 165/65 R315 TD tyres which include original fitment, whereby renewal prior to regular use would be a wise safety precaution. The dual line servo-assisted brakes with ventilated front discs pull the car up quickly and safely. HISTORY FILE Registered new on 1st October 1985 by Austin Rover Main Dealers and Leycare approved outlet, Brooks of Martock, this cherished Metro has covered an exceptionally low 16,464 miles from new! An Austin Rover cars sales brochure from 1985 with accessories booklet and price list tells you how a brand-new Metro Automatic would have cost £5,916.46 at the time. The history file is huge and contains a large folder of neatly filed service invoices as well as every MOT certificate dating back to the early 1990’s. The extensive service history fully verifies the mileage and offers an insight to the fastidious maintenance this car has enjoyed. With Metro’s fast becoming a symbol of the era and increasingly collectable, this pampered example is without question of the best in existence. MOT August 2019, HPI Clear.
