Available with a full convertible roof in 1988, this V12-engined cruiser was the XJ-S everybody had been waiting for
This is the best of the XJ-S range, a full convertible this time, with an electrically operated hood that incorporates a heated glass rear window. And as if to confirm its status, the Jaguar XJ-S Convertible was only available with the V12 engine and an auto gearbox. To make up for the loss of the Cabriolet’s roof supports, there’s a new subframe at the front to brace the body, though they are still not completely free of scuttle shake. The V12 Convertible made a comeback from 1993-95 with a 6.0-litre engine and 2+2 seating. Exceptional cars can now fetch £50k+.
