1973-1986 JAGUAR XJ6 S2/S3 specifications

Jaguar made many detail improvements to the Jaguar XJ to create the Series II. The new heating and ventilation system was welcome, as was the improved fuel economy thanks to an updated engine. The interior received a substantial update, but the only visual differences externally were the smaller grille and raised bumpers, to help the XJ meet US safety regulations. Unfortunately, the Series II was plagued with poor build quality and reliability issues, and that hit Jaguar’s hard-earned reputation for quality.
