1968-1973 JAGUAR XJ6 SI 2.8 specifications

This was the first generation of the very successful XJ model range, and introduced a new platform strategy that saw a single range replace the mixed bag of previous models. The Series I XJ6 was not an entirely new car, but it was designed to reinvent the Jaguar brand, still echoing the important values of previous models, but moving it forwards. The XJ came with fully independent suspension all-round for a world-beating suspension set-up, as well as the well-travelled XK engine. In 2.8-litre form, it lacked urge, and wasn’t free from reliability issues.
