Dispatched from a wintery Browns Lane in late November 1963 this Jaguar E-Type was destined for the far more hospitable climates of Los Angeles, where it was registered to its owner just a stone’s throw from Hollywood. In Tinsel Town’s golden age, where fellow residents and E-Type owners included the world’s greatest A-listers, the owner of this Coupe must have felt a part of a deeply exclusive club. After an incredible 45-year single ownership the E-Type was sold to a dealer, who brokered a deal to send the car back to England to just its second owner in 2011. Its time spent in the Californian sun had preserved the body in superb corrosion-free condition and, upon its repatriation, the E-Type required only a sympathetic recommission.
