A recently uncovered Jaguar E-type S3 will be offered at Silverstone Auctions’ May sale
A Jaguar E-type S3 Roadster, hidden away for more than 25 years, will be offered at the next Silverstone Auctions sale on 23 May. The 1973 model was bought new, and has remained in the same family covering a mere 7700 miles in over 40 years.
The car spent much of its early life tucked away in a garage at the family home in Warwickshire, with ownership passing to the original owner’s son in 1993. Still the car remained sat in the same garage, until it was given a full service in 2006 and then put into storage once again.
When his father died, the E-type was passed onto its current owner in September 2014, and will be fully recommissioned by specialists Tolman Motorsports. With a such a low number of miles and originality you can’t recreate, the estimate is currently set at £75,000-£90,000.
Talking about the unique opportunity to buy such a car, managing director of Silverstone Auctions, Nick Whale said: ‘It’s a pleasure to be able to offer this highly original, low mileage E-Type for auction and help find it a loving home with a new owner.’
