Senior automotive engineer Wicher Kist has been appointed Managing Director of historic Jaguar and Lister specialist CKL Developments
Historic Jaguar and Lister motorsport specialists CKL Developments has announced the appointment of Wicher Kist as its new Managing Director. Hiring the senior automotive engineer is the first step in the company's plan to develop the company's historic motorsport activities in the future.
With past experience at Cosworth and Dutch luxury supercar brand Spyker, Kist has got plenty of experience when it comes to developing low volume vehicles and components – something CKL hopes it can use to develop class-leading historic racers.
Founded in 1999 by Chris Keith-Lucas, the company is known for its expertise in the restoration, management, racing and brokerage of classic Jaguar and Lister racers. As part of its grand plan, the company is looking to further expand its range of services to include instruction and training in race craft for those aspiring to become competition class leaders.
Ben Shuckburgh, who has been at the helm of CKL since 2014 will remain involved with the business in a senior consulting role for management and sales following a period of ill-health.
Chris Keith-Lucas, Technical Director and founder of CKL, commented: 'Both Stefan Ziegler, our Chairman, and I are thrilled to welcome Wicher to CKL. We feel very fortunate to have attracted a person of this calibre and background and we are excited about working with him to build on our solid foundations and grow the business. Wicher’s experience and skills complement perfectly what we have already established, and will help to propel us to new heights in terms of quality, reputation and strategic growth.
'His appointment is a significant demonstration of our commitment to positioning CKL as the world’s leading light for classic racing cars from Jaguar, Lister and indeed other brands such as Aston Martin and Ford.'
