The offered Jaguar SS1 1,5 Litre is built in 1935 and sold to Rowley Kitcher. Rowley Kitcher was born in the beginning of the last century and lived in Newport, South Wales. He built a lot of Riley, Talbot, Rover and even Bugatti specials . They were known as Kitcher Specials. The first special, built in the twenties, was a model T Ford converted to a three wheeler and fitted with two gearboxes. This device was fearsomely fast and dangerous! In 1995 Rowley passed away. This Kitcher special has a two seater aluminum body with cycle wings and spare wheel mounted at the rear, it came with a hood and side screens. The lightweight aluminum body gave this special a sporting performance.
The original U.K. vehicles registration book shows that the car changes from owner but was bought back by Kitcher two times. In 1969 the car was bought by a Dutch family and imported to the Netherlands one year later. The current owner bought the car from this family in 1980.
It’s in an original condition and is never restored. Right now the car has a period Rover engine fitted. An original 1,5 Litre Jaguar SS DHC engine and a copy of the 1934 SS instruction book will be delivered with the car.
