Korean marque to unveil new ‘N’ series at German motor show.
Hyundai has announced the launch of its new high performance division, to be showcased at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
The brands ‘N’ range will be represented by a number of cars at the show, including the Hyundai RM15 Concept RR, the N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo, and a preview of the next generation i20 WRC car that is set to debut in 2016.
The RM15 RR is a mid-engine concept, with a 2.0-litre 300ps engine under the bonnet. Hyundai have teased that the car will also showcase closely guarded ‘driver-focused’ technologies.
The RM12 however is likely to be shadowed by what Hyundai are calling the ‘ultimate’ concept car: the ‘Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo’. The car has been built following its digital rendering for the Gran Turismo franchise, and represents all that a concept car can possibly be in terms of ‘race car design and sustainable technology’, according to the brand.
Hyundai entered the 2014 World Rally Championship after a nine-year hiatus, with the i20 WRC since taking one win at the German round of the series last year. On display at Frankfurt will be the new-for-2016 i20 WRC- the car Hyundai hope will challenge the mite of Volkswagen next season.
According to Hyundai, the new ‘N’ brand has come as a ‘result of intensive testing and product development’, and will bring ‘the most thrilling winding road’ fun to customers who truly love cars.
The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show will run from September 17–27.
