1949-1957 HUMBER Hawk Mk III-VIA specifications

For the new Humber Hawk, the Rootes Group turned to legendary American stylist Raymond Loewy, who created an American-flavoured and modern design with a very imposing and elongated front end. The look endured to include the MkV1A version until this was dropped in 1957. Although the first MkIII cars used the same 1944cc four-cylinder sidevalve engine and gearbox as previous Hawks, independent front suspension was introduced. Further changes included a bigger engine for the 1950s MkIV.
