HONDA Civic I/II (1972-1983) specifications

HONDA Civic I/II (1972-1983) specifications Classic and Performance Car

The first in a long line of affordable and extremely reliable hatchback models is today a very rare beast

Honda stuck to the N600’s technical package when it came to creating the Civic, but scaled it up usefully to add global appeal. It arrived on the scene in 1972, making the Civic one of the first superminis to hit the market. Arrived in the USA just in time to capitalise on the demand for Japanese imports and more economical cars, and became a huge hit Stateside as a result. Sweet running engines and stylish interior stood the Civic apart from the opposition, and paved the way for Honda’s huge success. Second generation model was the basis for the Triumph Acclaim.
