Built with composite body panels mounted on a lengthened variation of the extruded and bonded aluminium chassis Lotus is so well known for. Being a derivative of the Elise and Exige ‘111’ range they were given a model code of ‘121’. Using a 2.0L turbocharged GM based engine, early models left the factory with 197bhp, however a factory upgrade was performed to some cars upping power to 225bhp. This update also re-set the engine mapping, giving a far more linear power delivery. Despite the longer chassis (built specifically to house the larger engine and gearbox), the extra sound deadening and the significantly plusher interior the Europa remains true to its Lotus roots weighing just 995kg. Due to our continued development as well as owning several Europa’s ourselves we have become the UKs leading Europa specialists. £199,950

The 512 TR was the replacement for the Testarossa, and was announced for the 1992 model year. 2261 cars were made until production stopped in 1994. The new car witnessed a return to a model title using characters. The figure “5″ referring to the cubic capacity of the engine in litres and the “12″ to the number of cylinders, whilst the “TR” was an abbreviation of Testarossa (Testa Rossa). Whilst the basic body shape is similar to the Pininfarina designed Testarossa, several changes were made for the TR. The main external visual differences were an updated nose and tail, the louvre design on the engine lid as well as new wheels. The cabin was updated with changes made to the seats, steering wheel design and trim details. Mechanically there were numerous changes to the engine and gearbox. Not visually apparent was that the engine and transmission assembly location in the chassis had been dropped by 30mm, to lower the centre of gravity, thus improving the already high standard of road holding. The four valves per cylinder, flat twelve, dry sump engine was an upgraded version of that used in the Testarossa, whilst maintaining the same cubic capacity. Power rose to 428bhp, allowing the c

The F430 Scuderia was unveiled by Michael Schumacher at the Frankfurt Motor show in July 2007 and was the most potent road-legal version of the 430 produced by the factory. A gap had been left since the 360 Challenge Stradale production ended in 2005, and this model filled the void by being lighter, more powerful, rawer and technologically more advanced than its standard sibling.

Thanks to a high compression motor with re-mapped engine management and a sports exhaust, output was increased from 483 to 510bhp, this being developed at an unchanged 8500rpm. This increase in performance gave the Scuderia a 0-60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 197 mph. The F1 transmission also came in for some attention, Scuderia's used Ferrari's latest generation 'Superfast' software that reduced gearchange time to just 60 milliseconds. Other important developments were made including a new traction control system that combined the E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control in a single integrated system; E-Diff-2. Ride-height was dropped by 15mm, firmer springs and dampers were installed along with bigger carbon ceramic brake discs. The front ca

  • Jaguar XK120 C Type - Build No 10 by Lynx Motors

    £230,000

Following the success of the Jaguar XK120s at the 1950 Le Mans 24hr race it was realised that with minimal engine tuning, a lighter chassis and a lightweight aerodynamically revised aluminum body shell the car would have a very real chance of success against its iconic opposition and thus the XK120C or C-Type was born. Whilst the front suspension was very similar to that of the XK120 the rear was completely redesigned and the braking was ultimately improved (for 1953) via the innovative four disc brake arrangement, and the exhaust valves were enlarged. These modifications along with many more resulted in a power output of a little over 200bhp. The C-Types were completed in time to compete in the 1951 Le Mans 24hr. At one point in the race the Jaguars held first, second and third place and it was only mechanical teething issues that prevented that from being the final result. Lynx Motor Cars was founded in 1968 principally to repair and maintain specialist sports and racing cars but quickly made their name restoring and maintaining original Jaguar C-Types, D-Types and E-Types. The legendary D-Type succeeded the C-Type in 1954, many aficionados consider the D-Type to be the classic post-war sports racing car. Incorporating much that had been learnt from the iconic C-Types, the D-Type embraced aircraft technology in its construction and aerodynamics. The D-Type used monocoque technology. Attached to the front of the monocoque tub was a tubular sub-frame, which carried engine and front suspension. The tub was constructed of magnesium alloy and consisted of a double-skinned front and rear bulkhead with large tube like sills. The one piece bonnet hinged forward like the C-Type and the rear bodywork was removable. To reduce frontal area the engine was mounted at an angle of eight degrees and for the first time dry sumped. The D-Type used an all new gearbox and even more efficient disc brakes were adopted, new Dunlop light alloy wheels replaced the C-Types wire wheels. Aircraft style flexible fuel tanks were positioned in the tail and were accessed through the distinctive streamlined headrest, which later gained a fin for high speed stability. Three of these beautiful D-Types lined up for the 1954 Le Mans race and “should” have won. The race was extremely frust

Introduced in 2001, and in production through a couple of variants until 2010, the Murcielago is an all-wheel drive, mid-engined supercar that sits less than four feet tall and sports dramatic scissor doors. The power output of the early cars was around 570bhp, delivered through a six-speed manual gearbox with an integral differential driving the rear wheels and a viscous coupling central differential providing power to the front.
