  • Porsche 993 Turbo Coupe

    £149,950

During the late 60s and early 70s began development on a turbocharged version of the 911. Porsche originally needed to produce the car in order to comply with homologation regulations and had intended on marketing it as a street legal race vehicle like the 1973 Carrera 2.7 RS. When the homologation rules changed, Porsche continued to develop the car anyway, deciding to make it a fully equipped variant of the 911 that would top the model range and give Porsche a more direct competitor to vehicles from Ferrari and Lamborghini. Following the hugely successful 930 Turbo, Porsche released the 993 Turbo coupe in 1995.This would be the last of their air cooled cars. It featured a new turbocharged 3.6 litre twin turbo air to air intercooled engine, which produced 408bhp giving blistering performance with a 0-60 mph time of just 4.5secs and onto a top speed of 180mph. The 993 was the first Porsche Turbo with all wheel drive and held the tittle of “The worlds fastest production car from 0-60 mph and back to a standstill” achieving this in a shade over 7 secs equaling the legendary performance of their 959 supercar. • Lotus Evora GTE

    £112,000

The Lotus Evora was first unveiled at the 2008 British Motor Show. It was based on the first all-new vehicle platform from Lotus Cars since the introduction of the Elise in 1995. The name “Evora” keeps up the tradition of Lotus cars beginning their model names with the letter “E”. The name is derived from the words evolution, vogue, and aura. The Evora offered exclusivity in a competitive market flooded by cars such as the Porsche Cayman. The car was available from launch with a 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine, which produced 276 bhp and an impressive 350 N/m of torque. Lotus then brought out the supercharged Evora S, which increased power up to 345bhp and an additional 30lbft across the rev range. The Evora GTE was a race car developed by Lotus Motorsport for the global endurance GTE category that included races such as the infamous 24 hours of Le Mans. Lotus planned to build a limited number of road cars to celebrate their Evora GTE achievement at Le Mans, housing a tuned 440bhp engine, sequential gearbox and the distinctly wider bodywork found on the race car. Sadly the project was never fully completed and production was halted with only 25-30 pre-production road cars being built. I

The door cards—upholstered in the same pleated pattern l eatherette used on the seats—carried redesigned and relocated door handles and new door pockets. More storage space was provided in the form of a tray on the centre tunnel, which like the rest of the floor was covered in carpet rather than rubber mats. Designed by an American, working for an Italian firm the Pantera (Italian for “Pantha”) took over from the Mangusta and continued to be produced for 20 years. Unlike the Mangusta the Pantera employed a steel monocoque which was the first time De Tomaso used this technique. Built in January 1974 this De Tomaso Pantera was first registered in the UK during December of that same year. It was initially fitted with a prototype 3.0 V6 engine of the time. It subsequently spent some time in Ireland before being re-imported by the founder of the De Tomaso Owners Club, Phil Stebbings, in 1981 where it acquired its “W” registration. Mr Stebbings converted the car to GT5 spec using factory original parts and replaced the engine with an original spec Cleveland 5.8 litre V8. Latterly a race spec V8, more suited to track work, was fitted along with bespoke AP Racing brakes. The car was (and still is) well known within the Club and was frequently seen on supercar test days and featured

  • BMW Z8 Roadster

    £245,000

The BMW Z07 concept car, first shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 1997, blossomed from a dream into a production reality. Production of the BMW Z8 was announced at the Detroit Motor Show in January 1999. Designed for connoisseurs, the BMW Z8 was both very exclusive and a technological tour de force. Its blend of aesthetic design and dynamic performance is born of BMW’s desire to show how the 1956 BMW 507 might have developed had it been an integral part of the BMW range in the intervening period. The evocative and exotic style of the Z8 echoes the concept design very closely. The broad kidney grille and small xenon headlights faired in by glass covers flow into a long bonnet with muscular wheel arches and wide doors rounded off by a shapely yet purposeful tail with four large tailpipes. The Z8 even bears the typical 507 air scoops on its front wings whilst a luxurious leather interior is set off by a central instrument binnacle typical of that elegant era of convertible cars. Under the skin the Z8 is pure technology. The Z8 is built on an aluminum alloy spaceframe and carries an all-aluminium body. The power unit for the vehicle is no less than the 5.0l V8 engine from the M5.

From its aggressive new front cooling intakes to its more prominent rear, 5-blade airflow diffuser and new three-element tail spoiler, it is every inch the purpose-built supercar. Yet, because it is a Lotus, the Evora 400 features ‘zero-lift’, although the aero package increases downforce by 50lbs (23kgs) at V-max, to make more efficient use of its immensely capable road manners. The Lotus Europa S was originally marketed as a more refined and grown up alternative to the popular Elise and Exige. Built with composite body panels mounted on a lengthened variation of the extruded and bonded aluminium chassis Lotus is so well known for. Being a derivative of the Elise and Exige ‘111’ range they were given a model code of ‘121’. Using a 2.0L turbocharged GM based engine, early models left the factory with 197bhp, however a factory upgrade was performed to some cars upping power to 225bhp. This update also re-set the engine mapping, giving a far more linear power delivery. Despite the longer chassis (built specifically to house the larger engine and gearbox), the extra sound deadening and the significantly plusher interior the Europa remains true to its Lotus roots weighing just 995kg. Due to our continued development as well as owning several Europa’s ourselves we have become the UKs leading Europa specialists. The F430 Scuderia was unveiled by Michael Schumacher at the Frankfurt Motor show in July 2007 and was the most potent road-legal version of the 430 produced by the factory. A gap had been left since the 360 Challenge Stradale production ended in 2005, and this model filled the void by being lighter, more powerful, rawer and technologically more advanced than its standard sibling.

Thanks to a high compression motor with re-mapped engine management and a sports exhaust, output was increased from 483 to 510bhp, this being developed at an unchanged 8500rpm. This increase in performance gave the Scuderia a 0-60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 197 mph. The F1 transmission also came in for some attention, Scuderia's used Ferrari's latest generation 'Superfast' software that reduced gearchange time to just 60 milliseconds. Other important developments were made including a new traction control system that combined the E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control in a single integrated system; E-Diff-2. Ride-height was dropped by 15mm, firmer springs and dampers were installed along with bigger carbon ceramic brake discs. The front ca

Following the success of the Jaguar XK120s at the 1950 Le Mans 24hr race it was realised that with minimal engine tuning, a lighter chassis and a lightweight aerodynamically revised aluminum body shell the car would have a very real chance of success against its iconic opposition and thus the XK120C or C-Type was born. Whilst the front suspension was very similar to that of the XK120 the rear was completely redesigned and the braking was ultimately improved (for 1953) via the innovative four disc brake arrangement, and the exhaust valves were enlarged. These modifications along with many more resulted in a power output of a little over 200bhp. The C-Types were completed in time to compete in the 1951 Le Mans 24hr. The evolution from restoration to recreation was a natural one and soon saw the introduction of its first L

  • Jaguar D Type Long Nose by Proteus

    POA

The legendary D-Type succeeded the C-Type in 1954, many aficionados consider the D-Type to be the classic post-war sports racing car. Incorporating much that had been learnt from the iconic C-Types, the D-Type embraced aircraft technology in its construction and aerodynamics. The D-Type used monocoque technology. Attached to the front of the monocoque tub was a tubular sub-frame, which carried engine and front suspension. The tub was constructed of magnesium alloy and consisted of a double-skinned front and rear bulkhead with large tube like sills. The one piece bonnet hinged forward like the C-Type and the rear bodywork was removable. To reduce frontal area the engine was mounted at an angle of eight degrees and for the first time dry sumped. The D-Type used an all new gearbox and even more efficient disc brakes were adopted, new Dunlop light alloy wheels replaced the C-Types wire wheels. Aircraft style flexible fuel tanks were positioned in the tail and were accessed through the distinctive streamlined headrest, which later gained a fin for high speed stability. Three of these beautiful D-Types lined up for the 1954 Le Mans race and “should” have won. The race was extremely frust
