  • Ferrari F430 Scuderia 16M Spider

    £344,950

The F430 Scuderia was unveiled by Michael Schumacher at the Frankfurt Motor show in July 2007 and was the most potent road-legal version of the 430 produced by the factory. A gap had been left since the 360 Challenge Stradale production ended in 2005, and this model filled the void by being lighter, more powerful, rawer and technologically more advanced than its standard sibling.

Thanks to a high compression motor with re-mapped engine management and a sports exhaust, output was increased from 483 to 510bhp, this being developed at an unchanged 8500rpm. This increase in performance gave the Scuderia a 0-60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 197 mph. The F1 transmission also came in for some attention, Scuderia's used Ferrari's latest generation 'Superfast' software that reduced gearchange time to just 60 milliseconds. Other important developments were made including a new traction control system that combined the E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control in a single integrated system; E-Diff-2. Ride-height was dropped by 15mm, firmer springs and dampers were installed along with bigger carbon ceramic brake discs. The front ca

A completely new engine that, in a world first, combines the instantaneous response to commands, blistering performance, impressive torque and signature sound typical of a conventional Ferrari power unit with the fuel efficiency of a turbo. The 3855cc V8 punches out 560 bhp and maximum torque of 755 Nm in 7th gear. Despite delivering an extra 70 bhp and a massive 49% more torque, fuel consumption has fallen by 15% from the previous California. • Jaguar C Type by Proteus

    £57,950

Following the relative success of the Jaguar XK120s at the 1950 Le Mans 24hr race it was realised that with minimal engine tuning, a lighter chassis and a lightweight aerodynamically revised aluminium bodyshell the car would have a very real chance of success against its infamous opposition and thus the XK120C or C-Type was born. Whilst the front suspension was very similar to that of the XK120 the rear was completely redesigned and the braking was ultimately improved (for 1953) via the innovative four disc brake arrangement, and the exhaust valves were enlarged. These modifications along with many more resulted in a power output of a little over 200bhp. The C-Types were completed in time to compete in the 1951 Le Mans 24hr. At one point in the race the Jaguars held first, second and third place and it was only mechanical teething issues that prevented that from being the final result. With such an iconic marque as the Jaguar C-Type it was inevitable that companies would seek to produce recreations. The highest quality of these recreations was offered by Proteus. The company was established in 1985 by Jim Marland in Lancashire and they are still in existence today. Proteus offered

  • Jaguar D Type Long Nose by Proteus

    POA

The legendary D-Type succeeded the C-Type in 1954, many aficionados consider the D-Type to be the classic post-war sports racing car. Incorporating much that had been learnt from the iconic C-Types, the D-Type embraced aircraft technology in its construction and aerodynamics. The D-Type used monocoque technology. Attached to the front of the monocoque tub was a tubular sub-frame, which carried engine and front suspension. The tub was constructed of magnesium alloy and consisted of a double-skinned front and rear bulkhead with large tube like sills. The one piece bonnet hinged forward like the C-Type and the rear bodywork was removable. To reduce frontal area the engine was mounted at an angle of eight degrees and for the first time dry sumped. The D-Type used an all new gearbox and even more efficient disc brakes were adopted, new Dunlop light alloy wheels replaced the C-Types wire wheels. Aircraft style flexible fuel tanks were positioned in the tail and were accessed through the distinctive streamlined headrest, which later gained a fin for high speed stability. Three of these beautiful D-Types lined up for the 1954 Le Mans race and “should” have won. The race was extremely frust

  • Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce

    £370,000

The Lamborghini Murcielago was the first all new car to be built under Audi’s ownership by the Italian supercar manufacturer. Finally able to compete on a level playing field with Ferrari and Porsche, the Murcielago showed that Lamborghini could produce cars that combined performance with its trademark looks whilst also offering reliability that customers expected. Introduced in 2001, and in production through a couple of variants until 2010, the Murcielago is an all-wheel drive, mid-engined supercar that sits less than four feet tall and sports dramatic scissor doors. The power output of the early cars was around 570bhp, delivered through a six-speed manual gearbox with an integral differential driving the rear wheels and a viscous coupling central differential providing power to the front. The very low drag bodywork is constructed from mixture of Carbon fibre, steel and aluminum. Nearing the end of the cars life cycle the ultimate development of the Murcielago appeared at the 2009 Geneva motor show, thus the LP670-4 Super Veloce was born as the spiritual successor to the raw outrageous Diablo SV of the mid 90s.
