Overview

Just establishing itself as a classic, and worth both saving and savouring. Often misunderstood, the MX-3 may be a small coupé, but despite looks it still manages to offer generous rear seating area. For your delectation there is also crisp steering, a fine handling balance, precision gearbox and strong brakes. However, the real accolades are saved for what’s under the bonnet: a turbine-like four-cam engine of just 1850cc that laid claim to being the world’s smallest production V6. On that score alone it deserves proper recognition.
