1985-1991 PORSCHE 944 Turbo
As with the 924, a turbo version was always on the cards. Here it boosts the 2.5-litre engine by nearly 60bhp, with the clutch and gearbox uprated to suit. The chassis got thicker anti-roll bars and four-pot brake calipers. A smoother nose panel and larger rear spoiler distinguish it from the 944. For 1988 only, Turbo SE is offered with 250bhp thanks to a larger turbocharger. The transmission is further beefed up, a limited-slip diff is standard, brakes are uprated and Koni dampers fitted. For 1989-91 the SE specification was adopted for the normal 944 Turbo.
