Overview

Sitting at the top of the Maserati range, and vying with the very best from Ferrari for the title ‘fastest car in the world’, the Ghibli is one of the finest GT cars to emerge from the 1960s. Subsequently overshadowed by the Daytona and Miura, the Ghibli combined Giorgetto Giugiaro’s styling (while he was still at Ghia) with Maserati’s muscle to create a genuine 170mph road burner. The chassis engineering was beginning to look a little old hat, as it was a further variation of the Quattroporte’s tubular frame – but it was effective nevertheless. Ghibli Spyders are worth double the Coupe prices quoted.
