1987-1992 FORD Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth specifications

Things calmed down with the launch of the Sapphire Cosworth in 1988, which was much more discreet and down-to-earth than previous Sierra Cosworths. As its name suggests, it was based on the Sapphire saloon version of the Sierra and used the existing 1993cc Cosworth twin-cam engine. Perhaps wisely, now missing were the flashy spoilers, replaced by just a small and subtle one on the bootlid. Even the two available colours were sensible too; White and Graphite Grey. 11,000 were made before the Sapphire RS Cosworth 4x4 replaced it in 1990.
