Hundreds of classic motorsport icons took to the track at Laguna Seca for the Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion last weekend.

550 period-correct cars took to the hallowed track in California for the annual event, with cars from Formula One, Nascar, and endurance racing among those taking part.

The event takes place every year as part of the Monterey Car Week, running alongside the worlds most prestigious car auctions on the west coast.

This year's featured car at the event was the Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang, with various incarnations of the model flocking to Laguna Seca for a series of races.

Other highlights included ex-Formula One cars from the likes of 1979 title rivals James Hunt and Niki Lauda, while Rolex ambassador Sir Jackie Stewart was on hand to show enthusiasts around the Tyrrell 003 he took to the world drivers title in 1971.
