Ford Mustang Convertible and Jaguar Mk2 lead the way at CCA's second 'Everyman Classic' sale
Classic Car Auctions’ second sale at Silverstone saw sales totaling £330,000, equaling a 75 per cent sale rate. The top selling car was a 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible ending at a healthy £24,380. Another strong seller was a low mileage 1966 Jaguar Mk II 3.8 sold for £22,260.
Offering cars from the more affordable end of the classic spectrum, there were a number of up and coming 1990s stars also sold at the auction. A 1994 Renault Clio, the most collectible limited edition Williams 1 model, sold for £6360.
There were definitely some modern performance car bargains to be had at the sale too, with a 2005 Maserati Quattroporte in fine condition made £14,840, while a load-lugging 2003 Mercedes E55 AMG estate sold for £10,812.
Speaking after the sale, auction manager of CCA, Joe Watts, said: ‘It’s great to have increased our sales rate and helped secure some great prices for our vendors in what is only our second ever sale. It’s good to see that we’re offering even more customers the opportunity to buy and sell a classic car in a modern, hassle free way.’
The new auction house’s next sale will take place on 2 June, and the first Tuesday of every other month from here on out.
