1981-1989 FORD Fiesta XR2 specificationshttp://www.classicandperformancecar.comClassic and Performance CarClassic and Performance Car
Ford finally entered the mini car market in 1976 with the Fiesta; an unqualified success right from the word go. Surprisingly, it took nearly six years before a genuine performance version was added to the range, in the neat and tidy form of the XR2, with a larger, more powerful engine than any other Fiesta. Black plastic trim decorated the interior and exterior, there were alloy wheels and large circular headlamps were added. Ford’s Cooper continued through the MkII and MkIII versions of the Fiesta, until dropped in 1994.
