1975-1980 FORD Escort Mk II specifications

In 1975, the MkII Escort came along and, like the Cortina before it, lost many of the curves of the original in favour of a square-cut look which many considered bland. However, bland often sells well if the rest of the package is good, and the MkII proved this, with around two-million sold during its five-year life. Underneath the boxy body, everything was much the same as on the MkI model, albeit with the addition of a 1599cc engine to complement the existing 1098cc and 1298cc ones. Trim levels were just as varied as before.
