1972-1982 Fiat X1/9 1300 specifications

-

There’s a lot to be said for a compact mid-engined two-seater with a Targa top, not least in the handling department. So it seems unfair that though the X1/9 was launched in Europe in 1972, the UK had to wait five years before right-hand drive examples became available. Those early cars had 1300 engines and four-speed gearboxes, though in 1978 this package was changed for a 1500 engine and five-speed transmission. Styled by Bertone from 1982 the cars were built by them too and badged Bertone X1/9s.
