1985-1996 FIAT Croma specifications

The Croma was another famous ‘nearly car’ from Fiat. Based upon the Type 4 platform that also sired the Lancia Thema, Saab 9000 and Alfa Romeo 164, it had all the ingredients for major commercial success, but outside of Italy sales were seriously lacking. Given its clean Giugiaro styling and close resemblance to the more expensive stablemates, the Croma should have boasted serious showroom appeal. Standard models were capable, roomy and quck, but the Turbo version was a seriously rapid express that helped define the term ‘torque steer’ for the motoring press.
