Ferrari has announced the launch of their latest supercar, the 488 Spider.
Ferrari has today unveiled the 488 Spider ahead of its public debut later this summer.
The first images of the 488 Spider show the car in Blu Corsa blue, with a spattering of bodywork alterations compared to its coupe alternative
The Spider is the next in a long-line of Ferrari mid-rear engined V8-equiped supercars, and is the most powerful yet to feature a retractable hardtop. The 3902cc turbo-charged engine is taken directly from the 488 GTB, and in the hands of the 488 Spider will do 0-62mph in 3 seconds.
Also quick is the retractable hardtop roof, which takes just 14 seconds to retract or deploy. Elsewhere on the car, Ferrari have further enhanced its aerodynamic efficiency, with a blown spoiler and an aerodynamic underbody utilised to generate further rear downforce around the petruding twin exhaust tailpipes.
The car will make its public debut at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in September.
