Ferrari 250 GTE Series II 2+2 Coupe set to star at Blenheim.
Four classic Ferrari’s have been lined up to headline Silverstone Auctions Salon Privé sale.
The lot is headlined by an ex-1962 Paris Motor Show Ferrari 250 GTE Series II 2+2 Coupe, complete with full Ferrari Classiche Certificate of Authenticity.
Following its Paris Motor Show debut, this 250 GTE spent the majority of its life in Lille, France, passing through the hands of several owners including a Ferrari dealer who kept it as part of a private collection. It arrived in the UK in 2013, having been treated to a full engine and transmission rebuild a few years previous.
The 250 GTE is expected to fetch £300,000 - £350,000 when crosses the auction block at Blenheim Palace on September 4.
Supporting lots include an 1964 Ferrari 330 GT Series 1, one of only 52 RHD 1970 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2s and an ex-New York 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 ‘Daytona’.
The 330 GT on offer is one once belonging to Mohammed Al Fayed, and only one of 49 RHD examples ever produced. Ordered in July 1964, the Pininfarina-styled 330 GT has been well looked after, having received an engine rebuild in 1986 and over £30,000-worth of expenditure courtesy of Al Fayed. It arrives at sale with its original Borrani wire wheels still in tact and immaculate metallic blue paintwork, with an expected sale price of £190,000 - £220,000.
One of only 52 RHD 1970 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2s will also be present at Blenheim. Spending time in the UK and France – where it was even on display in the Museé Automobile de La Clayette – ‘ANM 397H’ has benefitted from extensive refurbishment with all mechanicals and cosmetics overhauled. Complete with driver manuals, a full history and just 87,000 miles on the odometer, the front-engined V12 is expected to fetch £145,000 - £165,000.
The final Fezza lining up for auction will be an 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona. A vision in Argento Metallizzato silver with contrasting Black leather interior, the car was delivered to New York from new, and has since undergone well-documented maintenance and mechanical works since 2005 to keep it in top running order, including a gearbox rebuild among other refurbishments. Period features such as Cromodora wheels and Becker Mexico stereo mean that the Daytona should sell for £500,000 - £550,000.
