One of the few still affordable classic Ferrari's which offers plenty of driving pleasure is the 308. This model was introduced in 1975 with a fibreglass body (Vetroresina), and in 1977 Ferrari switched to steel-bodied cars. At the same time, a targa version was introduced and similar to the Dino this model was named GTS. The 308 became one of the success stories of Ferrari, mainly because it was a fantastic car to drive with a melodious V8 engine and a gorgeous body designed by Pininfarina. It was also a popular car in seventies and eighties TV-series, and certainly Magnum P.I. made the 308 GTS famous on the small screen.
Our 308 GTS is a very early car from the first year of production. It has the desirable and sought after carburettor engine, producing approx. 240 bhp. This example was delivered in 1978 to its first american owner, and has been kept in fabulous original condition since. The engine offers good performance and the gearbox is easy to use and surprisingly slick - even when cold.
