  • FERRARI Enzo

    £2,200,000 £2,200,000

Here at Dick Lovett we’re excited to offer a car that really doesn’t need an introduction…The Ferrari Enzo! This stunning example has covered 7,620 miles and is presented in Rosso Corsa with a Rosso and Nero interior. At the time of its launch in 2002, the Enzo contained the most advanced track-derived technologies available at the time. What made it truly unique was the fact that it was benefiting from the technological crossover at a time when Ferrari were at the top of their game in Formula 1, and in turn were on an impressive winning streak between 1999 and 2004. Ferrari say the purpose of the Enzo was to provide the driver with increased performance capabilities through the use of highly sophisticated Formula 1 technology. Work in the wind tunnel, on the track and on the road focused completely on achieving optimum performance and this resulted in a completely uncompromising car designed almost entirely by function. The nose cone seen on formula 1 cars was the main inspiration behind the design of the Enzo’s iconic front end, while the flanks of the car were developed to channel air flow through the body of the car creating a much more aero-dynamic shape. The Enzo doesn’t feature an over-sized rear wing due to the engineers putting a lot of work into the cars ground effects which are highly effective. This decision left Ferrari free to have a much more elegant and understated design to the tail section. These functions wouldn’t have been possible without the majestic work of Pininfarina who did a fantastic job of designing the Enzo’s charismatic lines which has truly stood the test of time as one of the world’s most iconic cars. The Enzo’s engine was a completely new V12, which like the rest of the car took its inspiration from the Formula 1 team, and as a result featured some unique technical solutions. It has an overall capacity of 5998 cc, a maximum power output of 660 hp at 7800 rpm and maximum torque of 67 kgm at 5500 rpm. Its rear-mounted F1 gearbox was designed with the priority to cut gearshifting times (which went down to 150 milliseconds), the new gearbox technologies, alongside further refinements help deliver a superbly immersive and raw driving experience.

    POA POA

1949 Ferrari 166 Inter Coupe with Touring Coachwork s/n 015S, Engine no. 015S Carrozzeria Touring no. 3190 Red with Tan Leather Interior At the 1948 Turin Motor Show, Enzo Ferrari, by then 50 years of age, stood on the platform anxious about unveiling his new 166 series cars. Ferrari had already established himself as a formidable contender in racing, but he needed more resources to advance future competition efforts. Ready to build and sell production cars for public use, Ferrari designed a twin longitudinal tube chassis, enlisting Gilco to fabricate it, then ship it to Touring where the patented Superleggera coachwork would be assembled, finished, and applied to the chassis. Available in both the more comprehensively finished Inter or the more minimalistic MM forms, the 166 was powered by a 2 liter Colombo-designed V12 engine, backed by what was then virtually unheard of: a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension was by independent front double wishbone and transverse semi-elliptic spring suspension with hydraulic dampers, and a live rear axle with longitudinal semi-elliptic spring rear suspension with anti-roll bar and hydraulic dampers. Braking was managed via 4 wheel drums. Although the 1
