The company may have been short-lived, but the car Gordon-Keeble produced was a stunner. John Gordon (previously behind the Peerless GT) and Jim Keeble used a beautiful glassfibre Giugiaro styled 2+2 body and the Corvette V8 engine to produce a 135mph super-coupé that was as good to drive as look at.
But a price 40 percent higher than an E-type meant buyers were hard to find and the money ran out in 1965 after just 90 had been built. The company was then bought by Geoffrey West and Harold Smith, who built another nine or 10 before giving up the following year. An amazing 90 percent of the cars produced have survived thanks to enthusiasts.
