It’s one of those questions that is guaranteed to split opinion: just what is the greatest racing car ever built? Is it the fastest, the most beautiful, the best handling... Or is it simply that which made the most impact on the racing world?

In the December 2008 and January 2009 issues of Octane, we're calling upon seven famous racing drivers to name the cars that they view as the greatest ever. They are drivers who understand the heritage of the racing car: Sir Stirling Moss, Brian Redman, Damon Hill, Derek Bell, Carroll Shelby and Andy Wallace. None is short on opinion....

But we wanted to hear from you as well, and here's your chance to vote for your favourite car – see if you agreed with our distingiuished contributors.

After looking at the seven galleries we'd put together, and reading the opinions of the drivers in the magazine, you casted your votes. And your opinions mattered. The winning car will be announced, and featured, in the February 2009 issue of Octane. Voting is now closed...

Credit Suisse’s Classic Car Initiative

As many of Credit Suisse’s clients are enthusiastic classic car fans, Credit Suisse plays an active partnership role in the exclusive vintage car scene. Credit Suisse has sponsored various classic car events, and the company has even entered its own three Porsche 356s for selected events such as the Arabella Sheraton 2nd Luxury Collection Classic between Vienna, Davos and Munich, and the Modena Cento Ore in Italy, as well as for an exclusive tour through Sardinia.

In addition, Credit Suisse has enhanced the vintage car scene by adding at least two new events for selected guests to the season’s calendar each year, a Spring Rally and an Autumn Rally in exclusive locations around St Tropez, Monaco, Venice and the Amalfi Coast.
