Luxury Ameircan cars star at annual auction in Plymouth.
An ex-Lucius B.Manning Duesenberg SJ Phaeton was among a number of stand-out sales at this years RM Sotheby’s Motor City auction.
The 1935 Dual Cowl Phaeton led a total of 68 car sales at the auction, which racked up a sales total of $7,402,450, with the Duesenberg selling for the auctions highest price of $852,500.
Luxury pre-war American cars ruled the auction as expected, with a 1933 Packard Twelve Individual Custim Sport Phaeton ($506,000) and an 1934 Auburn Twelve Salon Speedster ($506,000) both fetching large sums in Michigan.
European presence was still felt, with a 2001 BMW Z8 ($192.500) and a 1988 Lamborghini LM002 ($192,500) proving the pick of the bunch from outside of America.
The auction enjoyed a sell-through rate of 79%, which is a 2% rise on those recorded in 2014.
