De Tomaso Longchamp GTS (1979).

car description

This De Tomaso Longchamp GTS is what we call a very cool car. An example of subdued Italian design of the seventies on steroids. It is quite a rare beast, with only 395 Coupés built between 1972 and 1989. Power came from the reliable 351 ci. Ford Cleveland V8. Most of the Longchamps were supplied with the Ford C6 automatic gearbox, although 17 examples were built with a ZF 5-speed manual gearbox. The GTS version was introduced in 1980, and came with wide wheel arches and Campagnolo alloys.
The example we are offering for sale is a beautiful series 1 car, built in 1979 and supplied to its first owner in Munich (Germany). In 1990, the car was returned to the factory and rebuild to GTS specification, including the famous Campagnolo wheels, an improved Shelby automatic gearbox and a slightly tweaked engine now producing 365 bhp. At the same time the car was repainted in the actual gorgeous grey metallic, and Alessandro De Tomaso was so kind to sign both headrests of the car. The Longchamp had one more successive owner in Germany, and came to Belgium in 2010 where it was pampered by its actual owner. The car looks absolutely fabulous, with a lovely original leather interior and in immac
