From the Pebble Beach Concours to the fantastic Motorsports Reunion, as well as all of the classic auctions, the Monterey Car Week can be automotive heaven for the enthusiast. Here's a list of all the events, times, dates, ticket prices and locations.
For one glorious week in August, thousands of motoring enthusiasts descend on Monterey County in California for something amazing. While a handful may be there for the only whalebone sidewalk in the world or perhaps to see one of the largest Aquariums in America, everyone else will be attending the Monterey Car Week.
This year it takes place between the 11 and 20 August, and unlike most similar automotive events, the Monterey Car Week is spread over a variety of venues. These range from world-class golf courses to the famous Laguna Seca circuit and the streets of the city itself.
Events may be scattered around the countryside, but the heart of the event is still the Pebble Beach Golf Course, which hosted its very first Concours d’Elegance in 1950 and has done so each year (excluding 1960 due to some uncooperative weather) since. The week’s events are still centred around this now world-famous Concours.
The motoring spectacle has grown in size each year, incorporating historic races at Laguna Seca Raceway from 1974 and adding diverse categories like Hot Rods and Microcars to the impressive events line-up in 1997.
Today there are a bewildering array of events, from huge auctions and concours events to small car shows and rallies. Attending all the happenings may require the use of a time-travelling DeLorean, so it’s best to pre-plan your trip and avoid missing out on any personal must-see events. Here’s a round-up of this year’s major events. SEE RELATED: Best Classic Car Shows in 2017
