1948-1953 DAIMLER DB18 Sports Special specifications

1948-1953 DAIMLER DB18 Sports Special specifications Classic and Performance Car

With the DB18 saloons and convertibles representing the sportier side of Daimler, the 1948 Sports Special version of the type was a step closer to the wild side. Twin carburettors helped squeeze 85bhp from the 2522cc six-cylinder engine. Barker were responsible for most of the bodies and its design featured a rear passenger seat facing sideways, thus making the car a three-seater. Hooper weighed in with the heavier ‘Empress’ saloon style, although alloy-on-ash construction for both machines helped keep performance up.
