Five new special edition Dodge Vipers have been launched, to mark the end of production next year.
To celebrate the 25th year of Viper production, Dodge has launched a total of five special edition models – four of which have already sold out. The Viper 1:28 Edition ACR, VoooDoo II Edition ACR, Snakeskin Edition GTC, GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR and Dodge Dealer Edition ACR all sold out so quickly that Dodge actually announced a fifth: the 2017 Viper Snakeskin Edition ACR.
This latest special edition draws inspiration from the 2010 Snakeskin ACR, the original special edition Viper. This means a Snakeskin Green exterior with a custom snakeskin-patterned SRT stripe. Mechanical changes include the addition of the ACR package, extreme aero package, carbon ceramic brakes and ACR interior.
Other unique features include a Snakeskin badge, as well as a custom car cover in the same colour as the the car - complete with the driver’s name. Like the 2010 original, production of this model will be capped at 31 units. It is of course powered by
The 1:28 Edition ACR – limited to 28 units – was apparently sold out in just 40 minutes. This special edition was built to pay tribute to the car that set the current production lap record around the the legendary Laguna Seca circuit. This lap was set by Randy Pobst.
The rest of the special editions were all sold out in less than two days. ‘From just 40 minutes to five days, the 25th Anniversary special-edition Dodge Vipers sold out incredibly fast, insuring their future collectability,’ said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Cars FCA North America. ‘Our customers are asking, so we’re adding one more special edition – the Dodge Viper Snakeskin ACR.’
