Saudi Prince buys Bugatti Chiron show car and Vision Gran Turismo, ahead of the cars appearing at Monterey Car Week.
Both the one-off Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo concept car and the world premiere Bugatti Chiron show car have been bought by a well known Bugatti collector from Saudi Arabia. Proof that everything is for sale at the right price, the Saudi prince, Badr bin Saud – known as B14 in Instagram
– made Bugatti an offer they couldn’t refuse.
And what was the price? Bugatti hasn’t disclosed the amount paid for the two cars, however a statement put out on Facebook does reveal: ‘the customer was awarded the contract after submitting the most convincing bid’.
Bugatti is planning to display both cars together for the first time during the Monterey Car Week, at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering, as well as the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance later in the week.
While the the mechanical details of the Vision Gran Turismo were never revealed, the car has been heard running and driving at low speed. Beyond knowing that it is powered by a W16 engine, little else has been confirmed about the Vision GT. The car can however be driven in digital form in Gran Turismo 6.
As it did with the original Veyron, the Chiron aims to thoroughly outgun the competition, with monstrous levels of power and torque. That means 1479bhp at 6750rpm as well as 1180lb ft of torque, which moves the game on considerably from the 1183bhp Veyron Super Sport.
