Major new concours announced at the Honourable Artillery Company headquarters in the City of London
A new high-profile concours has been announced for next year’s calendar, which is set to feature some of the most iconic cars ever built in the heart of the UK capital’s historic financial district. The first City of London Concours will be held in the stunning five-acre gardens of the Honourable Artillery Company headquarters, taking place on 8-9 June 2017.
In addition to the impressive field of classic cars from around the world, there will be a celebration of modern supercars, an exhibition of modern coachbuilt cars and a display of motorcycles, as well as a selection of cars for sale from major international dealers.
The new event has been launched by Octane magazine, which has joined forces with Thorough Events – the company behind the award-winning Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance. The new concours will create a unique addition to the events scene in the capital.
Commenting on the launch, Geoff Love, Publishing Director for Octane and its sister magazine Evo, said: ‘We are delighted to bring an event of this quality to the heart of London. Visitors will enjoy a relaxed, garden-party atmosphere – perfect for entertaining and networking – and of course a rare opportunity to see some of the finest cars motoring history has to offer.’
James Brooks-Ward, Managing Director of Thorough Events, added: ‘We are delighted to be working with Octane to launch a new event in London. The City of London Concours will be more than just a great car show; there will be fabulous food and wine, an art gallery, and carefully chosen exhibitors offering everything from fashion to antiques.’
The Concours, with luxury watchmaker Richard Mille already confirmed as a key sponsor, will provide a variety of opportunities for commercial partners to reach a discerning audience in an informal environment. Further sponsors and partners will be announced in the coming weeks. Media partners currently include Octane, Evo and The Week.
