This 1963 Bristol 408 started life in December 1963 being supplied to dealers Anthony Crook Motors in Surrey. According to factory records its colour was Black Tone, Jenson & Nicholson, extras being c/w heater unit, windscreen washer and cigar lighter. It was also fitted with Pirelli Cinturato tyres in place of Dunlop and the front seats were to 'Customers Specification' DVLA records show that it was first registered to a Mr Kenneth Rust of Hemel Hempstead, and subsequently The Swan, Northall near Dunstable. Mr Rust being the only owner before being recently discovered and rescued by Desmond! How long it has been in a barn is uncertain but as you can see it needs someone to restore it to its former glory! The Bristol 408 replaced the 407 in 1963 as the second model to feature the Chrysler 5.2 litre 250 hp V8 engine with automatic gearbox. A 2 door 4 seater saloon with armchair luxury and sports car performance! The 408 was produced from 1963 to 1966.
